COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Full body and a well rounded flavor comes from a foundation of seven different grains. The oats add a special silky texture that complements the roasted malts. The rich malty flavor is spiced with plenty of Northern Brewer and Fuggles hops for balance.

Thanks tjthresh for the chance to taste this, served in tulip glass: Pours a deep brown hue topped by a small creamy tan head and good lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate and toasty malts, a hint of coffee, grainy and slightly grassy vapors, and a note of liquorice.

The flavor profile is rather straight forward with chocolate malt being the dominate factor but this is hardly a sweet stout. There is a nice supporting taste of lactic acid and grassy bitterness upon further inspection. A little dash of pepper and a strong presence of coffee-like bitterness on the finish rounded out the experience.

The mouth feel is smooth but a tad watery. Fits within the framework of the beer. A solid stout and quite drinkable. Methinks I will enjoy another glass.

Bottle: Dark brown with a small tan head. Roasty aroma with light bits of cocoa. Flavor is more of the roasted malts, light bits of dry cocoa, and some of the oats. Nice creamy body.

Licorice in the aroma... licorice and a grainy (in a pleasent way, not a bad way) flavor... I only had one... couldn’t really get a feel for it... I should probably try it again... not bad though!

Thanks bauermj! Pours dark and sits black with one finger of creamy tan head. Nose is interesting, smells like Robitussin and spanish olive brine. Very strange. Flavor tastes like those things. *shudder* Medium body and ewww, gotta stop drinking this one. Kind of slick. Not sure what accounts for those flavors but once I picked them out it was all I was able to taste. Bad bottle?

It poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of chocolate and coffee. The taste was of malt flavor with hints of coffee, chocolate, and earth. Very nice stout.

On tap, shared with quiznoaz. I really can’t think of anything witty to say about this beer. It tastes like a stout, with absolutely NO buffalo aroma at all. Disappointing...

Shared with Holy. Toasted malt flavor. Smooth and even. Nice to drink, but nothing stands out from anything else.

On tap at the brewery. Nice coffee notes on the aroma. Color is black with garnet highlights. the roast carries the day, with the oats adding a nice, slick mouthfeel, but follows through with a slightly watery thinnish mouthfeel on the end. good malt and roast flavor.

Bottle. Aroma: Malty, doughy, caramel, banana. Appearance: Dark brown, opaque, with smooth tan head. Taste: Coffee and chocolate flavors, with oatmeal notes more noticeable as I drank more of the beer. Palate: Long, smoky, astringent finish, with a creamy texture. Decent OS with good drinkability, but a bit simple for my liking.
