Draft at the brewpub. Hoppy, fresh, citric, piney aroma, green and juicy, with lighter notes of brown sugar, malt toast and light cocoa in the background. Clear dark brown color, head is fine and slight. Flavor is just as hoppy as anticipated, combined with a hint of roast/toast, and just enough sweetness to balance out the hops. Bitterness is certainly prominent but not overwhelming, plenty of strong pine and resin aspects throughout. Mouthfeel is low in carbonation and drying, body is medium. Good stuff!

A few pints from a growler filled the previous day at the brewpub. Pour is a hazed brown with some copper and a smallish off white head. Aroma is fresh pine hops, along with a bit of toasty roasty malt. Taste is the bright clean hops, pine and a touch of resin, balanced nicely with lighter toasted, mildly roasted malt. Palate is lighter bodied, nice active carbonation and a clean bitter finish. Quite drinkable - seemed somewhere in between a Brown Ale and a Porter which worked nicely with the hops.

10oz tulip @ the brewpub. Delicious hoppy brown ale. Hops are sweet and piny. Base brown is easy to drink, nothing particular to mention about it. Good mix of hops with a brown ale underneath, as advertised.
