3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 beastiefan2k (2108) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - JUL 16, 201212oz bottle. Pour is dark, dull golden, medium clarity with a strong medium sized head that has good retention. Aroma, well it’s hoppy but I most like what I think is the Citra hop tha comes out. It’s kind of mango in a sea of citrus and bitterness. The flavor losses this mango character and just bitterness in a sea of wheat malt. Clean wheat malt and hop bitterness is all the flavor has. It almost seems soulless in the flavor. I want my beer with character not cookie-cutness.

Growler split between 4 people
A - Clear amber body with 2 fingers of white head. Nice lacing and pretty good retention.
S - Pine, lots of grapefruit, crunchy floral, bready pale malt.
T - Green pine hops at first but after it opens up bright grapefruit comes out taking over the pine. Pithy bitterness. Pale and caramel malts are lightly sweet and supports the hops while keeping a back seat. Finishes crisp and dry.
M - Light side of medium body, pithy bitterness, crisp and clean, dry finish.
This was straight and to the point. Clean summer flavors with a very nice crispness too it. Glad I got a chance to try this.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 TomDecapolis (4231) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Pours a translucent golden amber with a large foamy off white lacing head. Aroma of a Free State beer...haven’t nailed it down yet but my guess is either a heavy dose of some crystal malt...or Munich malt in the grain bill. It’s not a bad thing but gives all either beers a very malty up front nose. This is an ipa and when poured into a glass, hops should be the first thing I smell (in my opinion), but that’s not the case with this beer. Needs more dry hopping (to be honest I’m not even sure they dry hopper this beer at all). So besides the malty nose I do get some citrus and pine. Flavor is a bit more hop foward and bitter. Pine and grapefruit with a very aggressive bitterness. Malt flavor of toffee, caramel and toasted malt. If this was my summer ipa I would get rid of any crystal malt and dry hop the hell out of it. Would also tone down the bitterness. Just looked at the commercial description again...I would not call this blonde at all, it is def amber.

Love the initial aroma, orange for sure with cantaloupe. Appears clear gold. Spotty lacing slight head. Taste is pretty subdued grapefruit with slight bitter. Lighter. Slight lemon. Crisp summer session ipa.

Bottle at home, thanks to unclemike. Not like he’s my uncle, but he could be, I have a very fucked up family tree. I really could be my own grandfather, so that’s pretty fucked up. Pours deep hazy orange, moderate off-white head, great lacing. Nose is fantastic, really juicy with pine, spruce, grapefruit, lemon, tea, herbs, really solid nose right here... Flavours of juicy peach, soft nectarine, tea, cedarwood, ginger, so pretty. So, so, pretty.

12 oz draught at Urban Table. Pours a slightly opaque copper color. Aroma of tangerine, pine, grapefruit, wheat. Flavor is tangerine, orange, pine, grass, wheat. Overall quite citrusy with a hint of bitterness, but very light for and IPA. I really enjoy this one.

12 oz bottle a gift from Beastiefan2K. Thanks a bunch Eugene! Nose is tons of citrus hops with lots of little tropical fruit notes against a light sweet malty background. Hazy urine yellow with a big, heavy lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor is moderately bitter with some sweet melon notes. Finishes with a smooth light bitterness. A nice light, not overpoweringly bitter IPA.
