Bottle, thanks Russ! Wheat malt aroma followed by notes of caramel and hops. Pours golden colored with a bit of cloudiness and a light, white head. Wheat flavors with a touch of caramel to start followed by a smooth, dry finish with a bit of hops. Good, refreshing beer.

This is a good lawn mower beer but not much to it. Clean but not much flavor. Had in Lawrence.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2013 I enjoyed this beer. I was on the hunt for one from my home state and was not disappointed. Has slight fruity taste. Wheat flavor is spot on. It?s a crisp brew on hot days in kansas.

Eh. Just a plain old average wheat beer with too much hop flavor. Too bitter for my liking in a wheat beer. Pale yellow color, not much of a head. It was an okay drink for a thirsty spell, but wouldn’t drink otherwise if I had a choice. Go with Ad Astra Ale or even a Copperhead Ale if you want something nice from Free State.

Gold, hazy, thin white head. Grainy malt, light sourness, some lemon, some spice. Finishes fairly dry.

My second kolsch. Once again, an aroma of dirty socks, earth, and wheat. Head a little bigger than the Schlafly’s kolsch; similar lacing. Taste is dirt and malt, but without the sweetness of the Schlafly - it’s more bready. Also doesn’t finish as well the Schlafly - flavors disappear rather quickly. Drinkable again, but really quite bland. Not really impressed by this style so far - if I want something light and fairly refreshing, there are so many other options.
