3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a bottle poured into a pilsner glass. An aroma of pine leads to an interesting taste of pine and citrus with a strong coppery backbone that resonates on the palate. An interesting winter IPA...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep golden color with a good head that lasts with ample lacing. Aroma of citrus, some pine with malt sweetness and touch of spice. Taste of citrus, malt, caramel sweetness with bit of spice and grain. Nice bitterness just a bit of lingering pine aftertaste. Medium body, crisp, clean and refreshing. Nicely balanced. Verry enjoyable beer worth checking out.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle received in trade from RobertDale, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a cleat dark golden color with a smallish frothy white head that quickly settles to a cap on top. Citrus, earthy and spicy hops dominate the aroma. Bready with light caramel malts provide a hint of balance to an otherwise hoppy nose. The flavor is a bit sweeter than the aroma let on. Rich bready sugary honey maltiness provides a nice base for nice hit of spicy citrus hop flavor and a moderate amount of bitterness that lingers long into every sip. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Nice IPA

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2014 Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into a nonic glass. Medium reddish amber colour with sudsy off-white foam, long-lasting with lace. Rich malty flavour with intensely resiny American hops (probably Columbus?) flavours and aromas: dank, grapefruit, black current. Light-medium body, average carbonation, lingering aftertaste. A very nice American IPA. So far, this and the Ironman stout are the only Free State beers I liked enough to consider buying again.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is on the thin side. Leaves a thin even layered head in the glass. Taste is smooth and definitely not overpowered for a winter ale. Respectable offering.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2014 12oz. bottle supplied by WillRunForBeer—thanks! He hated this: he was like, "just a malty IPA". Poppy seeds, multi-grain bread, lemon zest, earl grey tea, and marsh rosemary grabbed from liquid. Bitter orange peel and American ale yeast by swallow. Super drinkable; smooth and becoming. We finished this rather quickly. We needed more shit to slay. #boost level 5.5, and rising.
