Bright golden, with citrus flavor and an aroma that combines notes of grapefruit, orange zest and a touch of the tropics. Like a warm ray of sunshine on a cold winterís day.

Nice sweet citrus aroma basic golden color. Now for the taste nice sweet malt followed by a hoppy burst a nice mix of the two. Not the best IPA available but would drink again.

Pour is a clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is a nice pine hop with some sweet malt. Flavor is more sweet malt with a nice hoppy backbone. Pretty straight forward IPA. Decent stuff.

Mild aroma of citrus and slight pine that becomes nuttier the more it sits in the glass. Pours deep orange with good head (finger-length) that stays around for awhile. Good lacing. Taste - some nutty malt; grapefruit and herbal hops. Finish started out a little fishy, but the more sips I take, the more itís just ending bitter. Somewhat watery palate. I was expecting perhaps a little spice or something for a winter seasonal, but this is a fairly standard IPA (could also qualify as an APA). Easy to drink. Nothing great, nothing horrible.

Pours clear golden copper with a soapy beige head. The aroma has mushy caramel malt, soap, citrus and lightly dank hops. It has a medium crisp body with modest amount of carbonation thatís pretty gentle. The flavor starts with crackery malt, dry caramel, some fruitiness and a hint of citrus. The finish is pretty astringent and adds some spicy / piny hops. Its a decent IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2013 Beautifu crystal clear copper color topped with a thick cream colored head. Tons of lacing, and an inviting, crisp nose when poured from a bottle. Taste and mouthfeel are both a bit thin, making this almost feel more like a summer beer than an early winter release. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from unclemike. Pours amber with a off white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Like gobs, totally coats my glass. Nose of toast, caramel, and lots oípine. Ample bitterness charges like a bull on parade. Finish is the pine express. Dry and lingering. Body is solid.

Really nice nose, otherwise a bit disappointing. Nice amber pour with a nice white head. Some bitterness at the end. Pretty good overall!

Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a crystal clear copper color. There was about a finger of off-white lacing that left a good deal of lacing. Good nose. There was a good whiff of citrus hops. Some grassy notes also. It has a nice taste. Good malt body, along with a good hop bite. Very smooth and well balanced. A very good IPA.

12oz bottle poured into a Free State willibecker glass. I have had this a few times over the past year, both bottle and tap at the brewpub. This particular rating is for a bottle I just picked up. While it was fridged this problem was bottle 2-3 months ago, not terrible old. Its a clear amber beer, pours filter clear. Medium thick head that sticks around. Free State does a good job of clearing the malt and letting the hops shine. In this beer the bitterness is prominent in the aroma and the flavor. Its all hops, well done, nice beer but a bit industrial. I would like more character to the beer. But if you want hop juice its a good option.
