3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2014 12oz. bottle supplied by WillRunForBeer—thanks! He hated this: he was like, "just a malty IPA". Poppy seeds, multi-grain bread, lemon zest, earl grey tea, and marsh rosemary grabbed from liquid. Bitter orange peel and American ale yeast by swallow. Super drinkable; smooth and becoming. We finished this rather quickly. We needed more shit to slay. #boost level 5.5, and rising.

a really in between beer. amber colored ipa with enogh malt presence to make it weird if you were expecting an ipa, and then not enough roast by a longshot to be close to a black ipa. a big almost.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mild aroma of citrus and slight pine that becomes nuttier the more it sits in the glass. Pours deep orange with good head (finger-length) that stays around for awhile. Good lacing. Taste - some nutty malt; grapefruit and herbal hops. Finish started out a little fishy, but the more sips I take, the more it’s just ending bitter. Somewhat watery palate. I was expecting perhaps a little spice or something for a winter seasonal, but this is a fairly standard IPA (could also qualify as an APA). Easy to drink. Nothing great, nothing horrible.

Very sweet citrus flavor with lots of malting. Decently hopped, but very intense sweetness dominates. Not bad.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
First! 12oz. bottle served in a shaker pint glass. This just hit the streets last week, so it is very fresh. Poured a brilliant reddish gold with a finger of off white head. Very fragrant. Great citrus/pine hop aroma. Flavor follows the aroma. Nice dose of hop bitterness. Some malt sweetness upfront. Solid malt base. Medium bodied. Drying finish from the hop bitterness. Very drinkable. Nothing crazy, just fresh, local beer, which always works for me.
