3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown body with a small fizzy light brown head. The nose is very thick, lots of chocolate and roasted malt with lighter notes of hops and licorice. The flavor is equally thick, a little too heavy on the roasted malt for my tastes in a Porter. It’s fairly burnt tasting with a tobacco and licorice undertone. Some lightly citrusy hops on the finish. Medium bodied and a bit chewy with soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, not a Porter for me.

Heavy roasted aroma, dark brown medium bodied, good lacing. Fresh, great tasting porter, Free Will is becoming a new favorite local brewery for me.
