Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized creamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy mixed fruity hops. The flavor was tart and tangy fruity hops, lemon and a bit of tart candy. Medium length tangy fruity hops finish. Medium body. Decent.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear light copper body under a one inch frothy off-white head that had pretty decent retention. The nose is just so-so for me, there’s a nice citrusy and tropical fruit like hoppiness, but also a bit too heavily sweet caramel maltiness below. I prefer the nose of a hoppy beer just focus on the hops. The flavor is much the same in that it has some positive and not so positive qualities. There’s some moderate Citra in here, but the caramel sweetness from the malt is lingering right there in the background and takes over on the finish right away. It’s not a flawed beer, it’s just a recipe formulation that I don’t really care for. Medium bodied, a little heavy, with fizzy soft carbonation. Not the worst beer by far, but not one that works especially well for my preferences.

Draft. Hazy yellow color, tiny white edge head. Aroma is pineapple, subtle grapefruit. Taste is sweet and sour pineapple. Nice showing of the citra hop without being over the top.

Draft at Smiling Chameleon. Pours with an orange tint and an inch of white foam. Nice floral notes on the nose. Piney and chewy on the tongue. Finishes clean. The taste does disappear as it goes along but is otherwise solid.

POurs amber with a white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit and toast. Taste is more on the sweeter side for a pale ale with minimal bitters. Light to medium bodied with a crisp finish.

Tasted during the Spring Beer Fest at McCoole’s in Quakertown, PA. decidedly bitter with hop flavor bordering on the lemon/orange side. Little too bitter for my taste would have preferred a little more balance.

Nephilium (1149) - Ohio, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Mild bready aroma with just a touch of Citra hops. Pours a hazy light amber, with a thin white head. Hops come forward a bit more in the flavor, with a lingering bitterness. Not a bad little APA, if you like Citra.

nothing too special about this pale ale. there was an abundance of a taste i equated with sunflower seeds, thats what i took away from this beer. it had a nice fruity nose, but there was something weird (sunflower seed taste) that did not say pale ale- almost like a victory or biscuit malt was overpowering it- doughy, nutty. was very drinkable, more so if flavor was a bit more subdued. felt like i missed out on all the hoppy goodness/flavors i would expect from such a strong hop like citra.

Mildly hoppy, earthy and grassy. Crisp with hints of citrus zest. Fairly punchy, but not a standout pale ale.

[Cask] Amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, citrus, some tropical fruits, and toasted malts. Taste of citrus, light pine, tropical fruits, toast, and light grapefruit in the finish.
