Certainly the most interesting beer the carry! A style that is apparently a traditional one that has fallen out of style. Dark color, but still faintly brown and transparent. Still has a creamy mouthfeel despite a thinner body.

Bottle. Pours a clear light brown body under a one inch frothy beige head that left some sticky lacing. The nose is toasty and nutty with a sweet hazelnut like note. Minimal to no hops. The flavor is a bit off for me though, it has a little bit of a burnt plastic like note under the nutty maltiness. Not sure really what they’re going for here, as far as their flavor target goes. It kinda tastes like a brown ale gone bad. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a short finish. Not so sure they have a hit with this one.

Pours reddish brown with a light tan head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and roast. Taste is sweet with a bitter finish. Medium bodied, slick texture, more carbonation then expected.

Dark, but translucent with a fairly thick tan head. Roasty malt, hints of coffee with woodiness and nuts. Hops are rather in the backseat here.

Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. aromas of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee and light cocoa with a crisp dry lingering roasty finish.

Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering.
Nose is earthy cocoa, light coffee, biscuit malt, brown sugars, dark toffee.
Taste comprises bourbon biscuit, cocoa powder, cheescake base, dark toffee fudge, brown sugar, light roast.
Medium bodied, prickly carbonation - over cooked for my liking, dry sweetish finale.
So so - a little over sweet and lacking depth.

Dark amber-brown body, medium sized fizzy head, sparse lacing. Caramel, nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, and an underlying fruitiness. Not particularly well integrated profile. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering astringent finish.

Pours like a brown ale. On nitro at smoked in Hershey. Nice thick tan head with good lacing. Taste is malty with a smoked coffee note. The finish is clean and crisp. I like this one.

Nitro at craft ale house. Pours hazy dark brown with a small white head. The aroma Is light with roast notes, light coffee, light cocoa. The taste is very roasty, coffee grind, dry finish.

Draft at Smiling Chameleon. Pours dark brown with an inch of khaki foam which doesn’t leave any lacing. A bit of chocolate on the nose but otherwise faint. A hint of maltiness on the tongue. Finishes clean. Not really feeling this one.

Tap at Capone’s. Poured burnt umber with tan head. Nose was rich roasty malty, with cacao, mild coffee, hops. Tasted roasty dark malty, patent and choc perhaps, with a huge late hop and roasty cacao nose. This one is very well made and unique.
