This superb organic dark lager is made with a blend of four malts, the crystal and cara malt produce a deep ruby red colour giving the lager multi-layered flavours of sweetness and dark toffee.

Very sweet toffee on the nose with a hint of lemony dish soap. Nice plummy flavour and plenty of caamelised brown sugar here. A nice carbonation but a pretty darned unpleasant finish. It seems full of metal and overripe fruit. Not really into that.

Pours mid dark brown with a strong red tinge, almost no head and the fact I’ve been served it in a wine glass makes it look not dissimilar to wine. Aroma is malty, resiny hops, sweetness. Taste is similar, dark and resiny, lager-like mild hops, sweet and slightly bitter finish. Rather nice.

Bottle@home BB 18/5/10 Pours nice amber colour, head dissapeared very quickly, some bready malty aromas, fairly sweet, almost a little too sweet. A nice enough beer for the style and for my first rating

On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green, 2nd May 09. Mid brown, white head. Quite toffee-ish flavour. Decent enough.

Bottle at beer exposed. Unfortunatly the woman at the stand got the full wrath of The Cads drunkan banter about how he knows more about beer than 95% of the people in the building. But come now shes giving me all this organic and health benifits stuff. Its been said before and it’ll be said again through Tom no doubt in the 4th person about The Cad KNOWS! Caramel, thin, over carbonated, boring.

A Mes rate: bottle at Beer Exposed.
Darkish copper coloured with a thin off white head. Standard caramel malt dark lager with some slight cardboard and a dry finish. Bland and boring.

Bottle @ Beer Exposed, September 2008.
Pours a nice, redish brown with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma has lots of toffee and some burnt caramel. Medium carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit out of balance, light berries, roasted caramel and light dryness. Weird.
