downender (1616), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Jul 12, 2008 Cask-conditioned at a JDW in Newport, Wales. Deep amber with a decent off-white head. Malty aroma of fruit and caramel. Flavour was also sweet, with some chewy malt, grassy hops and a decent bitter finish. Good.
scotty (754), Scotland Oct 7, 2008 Cask from Wetherspoons in Galashiels, the only other cask beer apart from Deuchars they had available even though they had an Inernational Beer Festival running at the time. Anyway,it was a good mid brown colour, had a thin white head. Both the nose and palate were dominated by malt, a pleasant afternoon beer. Ethereal (927), London, Greater London, England Mar 2, 2008 Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Clear amber appearance with a caramely, biscuity malt aroma. Flavour is similar and it’s got a good weight to it. Great if you are looking for a sweet malty pint. Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Feb 14, 2008 A Mes rate: Gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival. Mid golden brown with no head. Bland aroma of biscuity malt. Even more bland flavour with a bit of tea. Inoffensive but nothing to get excited about here. FatPhil (2362), Espoo, Finland Feb 6, 2008 Cask (Angleterre, Helsinki)
Deep orange, healthy head. Massive malty aroma, and really like cold black tea - quite bizarre. Taste is a mixture - apple, some tannin, light malts, but the tea is overpoweringly dominant. I must confess to loving cold tea. Decent bitter finish - full of real whole hops - and grainy malts, corn too - very nice.
