BCA (Gold Miner from Co-op BBE Jul 06). Fresh hoppy aromas zesty orange and more herbal resiny notes. Underlying firm malt with spicy hop notes and an interesting almost belgian yeast character which contributed to the overall interest and pleasant longevity of the finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted in Toronto. Obtained by my lovely wife whilst on holiday with my lovely mother in law in Montrose Scotland. Upon opening the bottle, everything exploded!!!! Beer all over the kitchen. After remainder of bottle was poured and settled rating and analysis could be performed. Appearance is cloudy gold, slightly on the orange side. Fluffy white head, soft and light. Aroma is floral, slight hints of berries or fruit and hoplike bitterness. Flavour has some dominent elements - hop bitterness at beginning, middle and end of taste, slight yeasty feel with only a hint of the fruit like elements found in the aroma. Fairly refrehsing.

Bottle from Co-op, Kinlochleven. Bottle conditioned, pors lovely and bright, good persistant head. Drunk at a picnic table at sunset looking out over Loch Leven. Immediately swarmed by midgies and retreated to tent. Anyway, the beer was an excellent golden ale, one of the best Iíve had from bottle (the draught ones mostly seem fresher and zestier).

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Deep golden color, rich syrupy nose with brandy and herbs. The mouth feels dead. Starts malty then into more hops, but the beer has gone bad so it has an odd mouthfeel. The finish is a huge off puttingly bitter that you get when a bottle condition beer goes off, though I can see the potential there.
