COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - Summer & Autumn. Also available bottle conditioned exclusively at the Co-op as Gold Miner.
Winner of two awards in the 1998 beauty of hops awards, this beer was especially brewed to use the "first gold " variety of hops, it has been described (by the award judges) as "orange peel and apricot blossom blended together beautifully" we prefer to say that it is an incredibly hoppy golden beer well suited to all "hop heads" everywhere.
Ingredients: Water from natural sources under the Royal Forest of Dean; Barley grown in the Cotswolds and malted by Warminster Maltings; First Gold whole hops grown in the "Three Counties"; Yeast.

Thanks I gethinbeer for this one. Pours a clear amber colour with a tight white head. The nose is quite earthy and woody with a moderately crackery malt base. Fairly simple flavour and there isnít a whole lot of the typical spice and floral character that I typically associate with this beer. Some light sulfur as well. I suspect this bottle may be a bit passed its prime, but itís still enjoyable.

Golden colour, malty aroma, taste is a bit fruity. Not especially good. I hoped for a bit more, but it just wasnít there.

Co-Op branded bottle. Pours clear gold with a slow pour, and hazes up a bit with a more rigorous pour. Not a very good head. Nose is malty and hoppy and balanced, but theres a nasty metallic tinge. Thankfully the metals donít carry into the mouth much and itís a fruity hop explosion, followed by some malt balancing and a bitter (and slight metallic) finish. But then it kind of fades a bit too quickly. Nice enough, but really nothing to get excited about.
