COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - Summer & Autumn. Also available bottle conditioned exclusively at the Co-op as Gold Miner.
Winner of two awards in the 1998 beauty of hops awards, this beer was especially brewed to use the "first gold " variety of hops, it has been described (by the award judges) as "orange peel and apricot blossom blended together beautifully" we prefer to say that it is an incredibly hoppy golden beer well suited to all "hop heads" everywhere.
Ingredients: Water from natural sources under the Royal Forest of Dean; Barley grown in the Cotswolds and malted by Warminster Maltings; First Gold whole hops grown in the "Three Counties"; Yeast.

Faint malty and hoppy aroma. Pale amber with little head. Flavour is almost pure grapefruit. Oily palate. Finishes grainy. Not to my taste at all.

Keep seeing these in my local co-op but usually buy my beer from elsewhere. Was drunk on the way so popped in to try one. It was alright actually but won’t make me make a special journey. Saw a smackhead steal some bacon which was a little surprising. No re-sale value in bacon. Usual gold with white head appearance. Malt, hops, light fruit, dusty grainy finish.

Bottled at Horsens Beerfestival as Gold Miner. Clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is moderate malty with some hops. Flavor is malt, toffee, fruity and quite hoppy, a little hint of liquorices in the finish. OK

Copper golden body. Lively, huge white head. Fresh smell of sappy hops. The taste brings juicy malts and resinous hops with a touch of toffee. More hops to the ending. 500ml bottle as Gold Miner from a co-operative in Tayport, Fife 02.11.2008.

Smell of wheat and hops. Cloudy golden with a large white airy head. Flavour was bitter and wheaty. Had a slight fizziness.

Smells a bit funky, the taste is a well all around flavor. The malts is average with a little bit of wheat like tasting, not much on the hop fronts.

The aroma is yeasty with a plastic quality and butter. There is also plenty of malt. The appearance is golden with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s drinkable.

Bottled. Bought at a supermarket in Killin, Scotland. Aroma is floral hoppy. Clear, golden coloured with a white head. Taste is bit bitter, sharp (probably not the best hops used..) bitter. Thin beer. mwoah.
