COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - Summer & Autumn. Also available bottle conditioned exclusively at the Co-op as Gold Miner.
Winner of two awards in the 1998 beauty of hops awards, this beer was especially brewed to use the "first gold " variety of hops, it has been described (by the award judges) as "orange peel and apricot blossom blended together beautifully" we prefer to say that it is an incredibly hoppy golden beer well suited to all "hop heads" everywhere.
Ingredients: Water from natural sources under the Royal Forest of Dean; Barley grown in the Cotswolds and malted by Warminster Maltings; First Gold whole hops grown in the "Three Counties"; Yeast.

Bottled. Bought at a supermarket in Killin, Scotland. Aroma is floral hoppy. Clear, golden coloured with a white head. Taste is bit bitter, sharp (probably not the best hops used..) bitter. Thin beer. mwoah.

Big offwhite head. Coppery body. Softly nutty metallic roasty malts aroma. Dry-sweet nutty malty taste with rubbery notes. Fizzy mouthfeel, mid-bodied. Bitter dandelion aftertaste with nalty notes. It’s OK. (0.5l bottle, Co-op, Ballycastle, Ulster.)

Gold, ice-cream float head. Sweetish light hoppy aroma. Rich malty taste - grainy and dry resiny hops. Well balanced, and a little nutty.

[500ml bottle from Co-Op High Wycombe] Under "Goldminer alias. Beautiful copper colour with a lovely orangey flavour leading into a spicy hoppy aftertaste. However, it’s spoiled by too much fizz.

Bottled as Gold Miner from the Co-op. This golden ale has a well-balanced flavour with a nice dry finish. Good but nothing to write home about.

Bottle, Co-Op, Hoylake. Best beer amongst the prevailing dross in Co-Op. Deep Copper colour, thin white head, orange jostles nicely with the hops to leave a slightly metallic aftertaste. Definitely worth a try.
