COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottled by Marstons after cold filtering and re-pitching with bottle yeast.
Ingredients: Optic pale malt; Crystal malt; Chocolate malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.
"A rich premium strength ale, plenty of hops in the nose, and loads of rich malt flavours in the mouth, an initial sweetness is rapidly replaced by the onslaught of hops a La Freeminer style, and the beer departs leaving a complex but balanced hop and malt aftertaste."

Cask at The Metropolitan Bar (W’Spoons), Baker Street, London. A dark amber/ruby red coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Vague fruity, caramel. Tastes fruity, caramel, almost metallic. Clearly not very fresh. I left most of it.

mjs (4555) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 2, 2014
(Cask at Angleterre, 20140602) The beer poured ruby red and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had toffee, caramel and grass. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were caramel, sweetness, earth, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A way too sweet ESB.

SlackerMads (1566) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2014
Cask. Light hazy hazelnut brown with a small off white head. Malty notes of cocoa, light chocolate, malt syrup, light fruity notes, over ripe banana. Medium body, oily texture, soft/near flat carbonation, medium sweet and light bitter. I don’t get the hop onslaught that the description says, and all in all it’s not that interesting.
