2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ungstrup (23981) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 7, 2005
[Cask at GBBF 2005] An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet fruity combined with strong notes of grass, leading to a slightly bitter dry end.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Hildigöltur (5107) - København, DENMARK - AUG 17, 2005
Cask conditioned. Golden coloured. This was a strange brew. Quite thin with unpleasant stearin notes in the aroma and in the flavour.

Cask, Newark Fest 05. Light gold with a small white head. Aromas are sweet buttery malts with some citrus. Flavours are sweet malts with biscuit, sweet pine and some fruitiness. Quite dry and fruity on the finish. A decent Summer beer.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RichardGretton (3759) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2005
Cask@Newark Beer Festival. Golden beer with a light head, the aroma is light and the flavour is only lightly hopped and quite watery. A poor beer overall.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Spiesy (2336) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - AUG 17, 2004
Cask Conditioned, at the GBBF, 2004.
Sweet grain aroma. Dull golden ale. No head at all. Bitterness lives happily with the malt base. Lingering aftertaste of Musk and Musk.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2004
Yet another pale gold, lager coloured summer beer. These seem to come in two styles. The first is very hoppy, with lots of citric bite and a quite tart finish. The second promises some hops in the aroma, but goes for a more mellow, easy drinking, lager feel on the palate. This one is firmly in the second camp. While it is clean and a touch fruity, it is not that crisp and the finish is rather soft and lacks grip. I prefer the sharper style. Cask (handpump), GBBF 2004, day 1.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 SilkTork (4737) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - MAY 6, 2004
Theobald Arms, Essex. This will be my last drink at this pub for a while. I’ve decided to go back to teaching, so I won’t be popping into the Moben Kitchens office anymore, which is only 10 minutes from this little scooping gem. Anyway, for my last drink: Pale amber session bitter with a lager quality about it. Dry with a thin malt base and a trace of hops. A bit wishy washy. Grassy aroma. I’m not keen on these lager type beers that the British brewers are putting out.
