Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Brown with no head. Acidic, fruity, malty, vinegar. Really poorly kept and bordering on the undrinkable. Normal for this Spoons.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 14, 2011
Tasted this in the Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in August 2007. Cask, handpump dispense. Cloudy orange amber in colour with a thin white head quickly disappearing. Hint of orange oil in the brief aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt complexes gives a digestive biscuit malt with sweet juicy tangerine notes. Bitter hop resins are short in intensity in the aftertaste. Finish is well balanced but very thin with malt just edging it. An ok session bitter.

Cask (handpump), Print Works (JDW), Clerkenwell. Amber with a thin, off-white head. Marked biscuity malt character to the aroma. Joined by some light, citric hop in the flavour. Quite dry, light and fresh, with some late spicy bitterness. Pleasant, if largely uneventful

Cask in Henglers circus., 4.5%. Aroma is malty, caramel, hints at oxidisation. Taste is more balanced spicey hops drying, there is hints at a moldy cellar in here but nothing to ruin the beer.

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks Blonde with a good white head. Unusually good condition for a ’Sporks serving. Citric hops, tobacco, quite creamy. Nothing offensive, straight down the line. Bitter finish. Pretty dull.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 hughie (3993) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2007
Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Slightly hazy gold with a huge white head. ’There’s a lot of air in this line,’ said the young lady who served me. Indeed. Aroma was oddly sweaty. Taste had some biscuity malt and there was a trace of bitterness. However the overall impression was staleness.

Amber orange appearance with a thin head. Sweet malt aroma that held a little earthiness. Taste was mainly malts with only a modicum of hoppiness. Modest carbonation with a clean, bitter finish. Good session beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 smoosh (525) - New Albany, Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2004
Cask - nice golden color with a large-bubbled white head. Somewhat fruity, malty nose. Flavor was of a little malt and was quite sour. Very drinkable, but sour. This is likely due to some handling issue on the trip over. It is almost certainly not as good as it should be, but was still enjoyable.
