Our namesake beer. Deep copper hue with a rich, caramel aroma and subtle hop perfume. Assertively bitter finish balancing the residual malt-sweetness. ABV from 6% to 4.4% to 4.9%.

Hazy, sediment filled amber colored body with a frothy off white cap, that is leaving some decent lacing. Some sweet caramel in the aroma with a very faint hint of orange hops. Flavor is geared towards the malts but a little hop bitterness comes out in the dry finish. Overall, not too shabby.

Suitably amber pour with thin beige foam. Caramel malt with light roast and pine highlights. Nice enough for an amber.

Can. Pours a deep amber with a shallow, thin, fine-grained cream-colored head. Nose is stone fruit, spice, white pepper, caramel, and grapefruit. Some toffee and peach sweetness up front, then shifts into a peppery grapefruit and herbs bitterness on the midpalate. Nice prickly carbonation on the tongue, with good dryness. The finish is long, dry, with just a touch of citrus malt. Quite a nice amber ale. I could drink a lot of these.

San Antonio, TX - on tap at the brewpub. Medium copper, light off-white head, brief lacing. Neutral aroma - not picking up anything. Standard brewpub amber flavor, light citrus, hint of caramel, traces of nuttiness. Thick enough mouthfeel. Decent session starter.

On tap at the brewpub in the outskirts of San Antonio. Clear deep amber color with a durable off-white head that leaves fine lacing. Aroma: sweet and simple. Flavor: loaded with caramel and roasted grains, it also has a surprising chocolate tone. Feel: light-medium body and near medium carbonation. . O: modestly above average for style.
