Pitcher split with DarkBeerChick at the brewpub. Poured an inviting, clear, dark copper body with just a ring of ivory head. Aromas of light malt sweetness, some piney hops and not much else. Flavor was light caramel sweetness, hints of pine hops and a little roastyness. Thin to medium mouthfeel.

Nice copper red with a light head. Aroma is rich and inviting with slight hops. Flavor was surprisingly full bodied with mild hops and a mild sweetness. Not bad at all and would probably order again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the brewpub. Pours a mostly clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Caramel malt and mild hops aroma. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, hops and caramel. The finish is clean and malty with a short hops aftertaste. Straightforward, average Amber overall.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Toasty malt aroma and a coppery red appearance. Flavor is pretty much a straight up toasty malt with a delicious slight licorice aftertaste. Nice effort. Iíll definitley order again.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2010 Sample at the brewpub with the club on April 24, 2009. Nice, deep amber color. No carbonation. No head. Hmm... no aroma. Losing faith quickly. Iím starting to think that none of Freetailís offerings have much other than flavor, if that. Not alot of flavor, either. Tastes a little flat. Whatís noticeable is roasted, but Iím not too sure what it is that was roasted. Bitter, but not in the good, yummy, hoppy kinda way.
Sampled again on March 14, 2010. Medium-dark amber color, non-carbonated, obviously looks lighter in color (orange) near the bottom of the glass than on the top. It has a great aroma for a cask-conditioned amber. Aroma of caramel malt and light hops. Warm body (temperature) at the time of the tasting with light hops. Serving via a cask proves this beer is pretty good. A little stale bitterness at the back, but good!
