Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear copper color with a frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour dark honey, yeast and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy complex sour flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer for style.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Cool label. Pours a copper color with a large white head. The aroma is sour cherry, tart acidic. A very nice lambic-like flavor which is at times very sour, some dark cherries, woody, quite dry. Very good and well crafted

GABF 2011 Media Luncheon. Hazy burnt orange, very small off-white head. Aroma of sour brett, some strong oak, some light fruit, and light booze. Taste was much the same, with a pronounced sourness in a big body. Some dark overripe citrus, a whiff of toffee sweetness, and some dark fruit. Dry finish. A bit too dry and sour for me, but it struck me as a well made beer nonetheless.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheAlum (3299) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2011
22 oz bottle from atx. Pours a well hazed amber pour, laces well with a frothy offwhite head, mellow and laces ok. Aromas are rich fruit punch, berries and white wine, oak, with touches of lactic acid, lemons, and rind. A lot of red fruit. Initial is fruity, lots of fruit punch, melon and raspberries, cherries, some touches of grapefruit. Moving into the middle a significant fruity essence remains, fruit punch cherries and raspberries, lemons and grapes sour it up a bit. Backend throws a decent bit of acidity, a good sourness, oak, lactic acidity, and lemons. Finish leaves a lingering sourness, gentle bit of oak, vanilla, and toiches of bread. Really quite nice, but lacking that kick of sourness I expected. A touch of Balsamic, but more gentle, raspberries, oak, and grapefruit. Pretty enjoyable.
