COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So many broken promises…”I’ll call you”…”The check is in the mail”…”It wasn’t me” …”Coming Soon!” This beer takes the cake: our first English-style ale is brewed with Thomas Fawcett Golden Promise Pale Malt, Pale Crystal and Torrified wheat to lend a biscuity fullness. Finishing with a whopping 12 pounds of East Kent Goldings adds just the edge to this traditional pale ale—just in time to slake the thirsts of our customers clamoring for a new infusion of hops into our growing repertoire. (Draught at Realtail festival at Freetail) clearish golden with no head. Nose of bread, English-style hops, and melon. Taste of butter, mildly bitter, pine, and citrus oils. Medium thick body with a bitter linger.

This is a pretty solid english pale ale. Not a lot of noise, but there is a solid hops backbone with a resinous sticky mouth feel. Tastes similar to sierra nevada’s pale ale.

On tap at the brewery. Poured a light amber body with some off-white head leaving lacing. Aromas of grassy/floral hops and light malty sweetness. Flavors of grassy hops, lightly malty, bready, some caramel and a bit of citrus hops in the end.

On tap at RealTail Festival at Freetail. Pours a cloudy orange copper with a medium off white head that dissipates quickly to nothing. The aroma is a sweet fruity malt and wheat grass. Sweet hop flavor and honey with a nice bitter finish. Easy to drink, a good pale ale from Freetail.

Sampled on tap at the Freetail-Real Ale barrel-aged festival in San Antonio. The beer pours a hazy yellow orange color with a white head. The aroma is grapes and apples with some grassy hops. The flavor is bready malt plus grassy and earthy hops. While drinking the beer the only way I could describe it was as "very British." Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This one would be very interesting to try on cask.

Broken Promise has a muted, dirty brown/golden-tan (have I confused you yet?) color with brown hues and a small, fine white head. It has a delicious hop-malt aroma with a little hint of body odor. Awesome hop character in this with a spicy malt presence. Delicious. Tongue-numbingly hoppy, but moderate finish. I love the malts in this beer. It tastes even better the more you drink.

Another poolside beer from freetail. Brown sugar. Metal in the back of the throat. I think I would like a Jersey Mikes club sandwich with this beer.
