COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for the Comanche chief Potsanaquahip of the Penataka band, this fierce India Pale Ale remains true to the American brewing spirit, delivering long lasting hop flavor and character. Buffalo Hump led the Great Raid of 1840 in retaliation for the Texan settlers’ betrayal under a white flag in San Antonio at the Council House Fight. This IPA represents the unrelenting spirit of our little brewery in north San Antonio, even when it becomes apparent we’ve brought knives to a gun fight. Inspired by bitter betrayal, this bitter brew will remind you to stay true to your sensibilities… and to your word! Ingredients: Belgian pale and crystal malts; four full-blooded varieties of American hops; top-fermenting Belgian yeast strain; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; Texas Pride.

2/24/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Slightly hazy copper/orange pour with a small khaki head. Funky aroma of Belgian yeast, sweet citrus, and a touch of plasticky phenolics. Sweet caramel entry that shows a combination of citrus, caramel, Belgian yeast, esters, phenolics, and even chocolate. Not bad.

Tap at brewpub. Bright clear gold with a small lacy white head. Nose is moderate hop profile. Taste is very smooth with a nice bitter taste. Belgian yeast tames this beast a bit. Alcohol is barely evident. Well done!

Sampled 7-30-2010 in a pint glass- served a somewhat turbid copper color, thin white head that laced very well, hearty aroma of pine and caramel malt. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is there and is highly enjoyable, hop wave crashes in hard- almost like a double IPA, finish is acidic and cloying. Good brew.

On tap at RealTail Festival at Freetail. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a small white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is a sweet malt and wheat grass. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and citrus with a nice light bitter finish. A good IPA from Freetail.

The look is clear, golden in color, and has a white head. The smell is citrus, caramel, pine, tropical fruits, and good. The taste is hops, caramel, low bitterness, citrus, some sweetness, and not bad.
