So as it would turn out, the world is ending. Might as well have one last beer! We’re making this special Coco Guate Imperial Porter with Mayan Coffee Beans to... uh, celebrate (?) the demise of planet earth. On draft only, released on 12.21.12 in concert with our End of the World Party. In the event the world DOESN’T end, at least we’ll be able to drink more the next day.

The only thing I didn’t like about drinking this beer was the squeaky windmill across from their patio. Seriously, grease that thing or I’m just getting a growler to go next time because inside is way too sports-bar-y for me. Coffee, chocolate, chilies (lots of taste but little heat).

Draft at the brewery. This was sampled at the brewpub in San Antonio. The dark porter had a small head that dissapated. The nose experienced spice , raisins, coffeeand peppers on the nose. Your taste buds are assaulted with much of the same.. This si very complex porter worth trying. The Mayan would have loved it. The medium body porter had average carbonation. The finish was complex with again raisins, spices, and coffee at the end.

excited to try this, have always loved freetail .. 64oz growler .. . pours a deep black brown, light foam .. . tar, spice, light pepper skin, and mild roasted coffee .. . light mouth .. . long finish .. . pretty good but take out the spice and i would have loved it .. . . I like thick girls, girls who like bright colours, dancing, soft fabrics.

On tap at the pub. Dark pour with little to no head. Aroma is lots of baking spice, vanilla, and s'mores. Taste is way too much baking spice, coffee, chocolate, and a good finish despite the assault.

Tap at the pub. Pours a very dark brown color, almost opaque. Little head or caebonation. Aroma is Christmas spice, dark malts, brown sugar and wood. Flavor is also Christmas spice, slightly roasted malts, coffee ground and some kind of hot chili pepper. This tingles as it finished. Lots of spice.

Tap at the pub. Great dark looking beer, great aroma, but the flavor is almost too spicy. If they toned the spice down a bit, this would get a much higher rating from me.

Aroma of roasted malts with chocolate notes. Pours a dark brown with mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste sweet. Notes of chocolate roasted malts with a nice spicey tickle on the back of the throat. Medium body and soft carbonation. Overall, quite satisfying and tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pitch black... what else would you expect at the end of the world? It has a dense, bright, light brown head and short-lived, shimmering lacing that slides down the glass slowly. The aroma is quite yummy, with pronounced chocolate and peppers, but is smooth and sweet. Delicious! In the mouth it’s less gentle, with an intense smoked pepper and light chocolate. It’s full and complex, with the perfect gravity to support the very roasted malt base. As full and powerful as it is in the mouth, it finishes light, with some dark, motor oil-like sauces coating the throat, delivering a chocolaty pepper feeling that sticks around your sinuses for quite a while. Delectable... excellent! Love!
