bomber 11/25/11.
amber but tinted orange.
absolutely awful aroma.... salty garbage, rotted fruit, green barrel, sticks, twigs and barf.
thankfully, the flavor is much better... actually, it is almost awesome!... it tastes like soured honey....herbs, flowers, granola, vanilla, brown sugar, fig seeds and light vinegar. it is quite tart but still has a fruity balance.

so-so sour. A sour aroma. The taste is cherry, its sour, but there was lots of plastic band aid. Fruity getting through that legit off-flavour.

Hazy tarnished copper with a sheet of khaki head. Sweet cherries, figs, oak and a little bit of funk to the nose. Nice transition in the taste from upfront sour to a malty fig and plum combo. I’m a big fan of the wine barrels they’ve been using and the oak it imparts. Tannic and pretty dry, but no palate fatigue.

Pours a dark amber honey brown. Virtually no head at all to speak of and low carbonation. Interesting dried fruit flavor followed by a slight sweet herbal tang on the tongue. It’s almost reminiscent of Jagermiester. Slight herbal woody aroma on the nose. Overall, I finally get to taste a Sour that I actually like. Bravo Freetail...

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. I am always happy to try a new sour from Freetail.
The beer pours a hazy orange-amber color with a large white head. The aroma has some nice fig notes, as well as some toffee and a light amount of tartness. A unique aroma that I have not experienced before.
The flavor has a lot of tart fig notes, as well as some sweetness from the brown sugar and some toffee malt. There is also a light vinegar component in the flavor. The fig notes blend very well with the sour and sweet notes and make this beer very enjoyable.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours sort of murky dark amber in color with a small head. Intense fruit aroma. Tons of sweet figs, almost a bit like a Fig Newton. Some sweet malt is also present with only minimal to moderate tartness. A few other dark fruit aromas in there. The flavor doesn’t quite live up to the pleasantness of the aroma, but still good. A bit simple and a bit sweet, not really much tartness. But, there still is some nice fig flavor.

(bottle shared by Dak at Black Friday). Pours a clear deep mahogany color. Aroma has figs, caramel and tart berries. Very ’unique’ smell. Taste is both sweet and tart and much better than the aroma. Not bad.

Black Friday tasting, bottle sent by Ericandersnavy. Dark pour. Very interesting aroma of sour cherries, light vinegar, odd yeasty notes and some good funk. Flavor is lightly sour, somewhat fruity, creamy palate. Very unique and worth a try.
