Figgy Wood’n began with our 2nd Anniversary Dubbel-style “TWO”. Re-fermented on mission figs and honey we rang in the holiday season with this wintery treat—Figgy Pudd’n. Finally, we set aside a small portion in a retired Dry Comal Creek wine barrel and re-discovered this subtly sour, complex creation. Enjoy with your next festive occasion, or cellar for another year or two as the flavors continue to evolve and meld with age. Cheers!

Light brown color almost red. The aroma is considerably tart which is the dominant characteristic. Fruity and almost vinegar like. The taste is tart, very fruity and cherries. Flanders Red? This was very enjoyable and may have been the best one I tried at the RealTail II Festival.

Bottle... Pours cloudy and burnt-orange with a small, wispy, white heat. Smells like a Flanders red – dark cherries, damp wood, lots of caramel, red wine and figs. Full-bodied with airy carbonation. Fruity, acetic and acidic – sour cherries, red wine and a mild splash of red wine vinegar. Woody and vinous with a whisper of acetone in the finale. Bottle shipped to me by Rosebud butternuts!
