Deep amber body with a creamy eggshell head. This is a very unique beer and I’m not sure I’ve tasted anything like it before. Like a liquid german chocolate cake. Aromas of coconut, chocolate, caramel, toffee, vanilla - flavor is lots of chocolate and coconut. Great.

Pretty damn cool beer from this up-and-comer. Big, bold, roiling dark brown pour with a buoyant, sticky head. Nose is really pretty inviting, with deep chocolate and caramel malts, dry hops to bring out the abundant coconut, and damn if it isn’t pretty close to the inspiration. On a chilly evening, the warming malts and deep rich flavors went down quite nicely. Slight nutty notes suggest fruitbread here and there. But this well realized brown benefits well from the sweet additions and satisfies without being gimicky.

(22oz bomber) clear ruby amber with a ring of fine tan bubbles. Nose of coconut, nuts, toasty grain and graham cracker. Taste of coconut, a bit of coconut estery bitterness, cream, smooth, nutty, and rich. Really nice and easy to drink. Great brown ale.

Tap at the pub. This beer pours a clear dark red color with some rosy highlights. Ring of off white head. Aroma is sweet, Belgian sugar and light roasted malts. Flavor is raisins, wood, aged malts with a slightly sweet finish. Almost some oaky notes as well. Grats on 4 years.

This has a deep, dark amber color, looks thin-bodied for a brown ale. It has a wet, dense, bright white head that leaves no lacing. The aroma is mellow, but with slight notes of harshly-caramelized malts. The flavor is very well-decorated with a nutty, almost vanilla-like sweetness. The mouth feel is slick and easy, thin-bodied, and delivers a brown sweetness that’s really addictive. It finishes soft and clean, with a touch of English yeast earthiness... and more of that vanilla-like sweetness.

Bomber. Pours dark brown but clear. Little small white head. Chocolate, spicy, vanilla nose. Taste is a bit light, with some chocolate, coconut, as the notes say. Medium body. Decent beer.

Sampled at thirdeye11’s birthday party. Glad I got to try this one.
Pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma has some light chocolate notes as well as some caramel and toffee. The flavor is similar, with a few welcome additions. I get some strong chocolate, caramel and coconut notes. I also get some pineapple notes, but that may just be my imagination since I don’t think it was brewed with fruit. Regardless, this makes the beer have a pina colada quality that I think is very unique. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Always glad to have a new beer from Freetail - especially when they are as good as Four.

On tap, pours a medium brown with a thin off white head. Plenty of cocoa and caramel on the nose. Medium body with well balanced sweetness and a dark fruit finish.
