COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On Black Friday 2008, Freetail opened its doors for the first time—literally ten minutes after we got the draught system operating & without any of our own beer on tap. One email was bold enough to call our opening the “stupidest thing” they’d ever seen & predicted our demise within a month. Fortunately, that prediction has missed the mark by at least forty-seven months as we celebrate our fourth anniversary. To commemorate, we present this robust German Chocolate-inspired brew, made with toasted coconut, cocoa, and an array of caramel malts. This ale is dedicated to all of you who have supported us throughout the years and to our dedicated team who make it all possible. FOUR MORE YEARS! -Scott Ingredients: pils, munich, vienna and caramel malts; just a kiss of hops; top-fermenting yeast; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; birthday suits

On tap @ the brew pub. Deep amber body with a creamy eggshell head. This is a very unique beer and I’m not sure I’ve tasted anything like it before. Like a liquid german chocolate cake. Aromas of coconut, chocolate, caramel, toffee, vanilla - flavor is lots of chocolate and coconut. Great.

This one poured a murky medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of toast, caramel, nuts and brown sugar. Flavor was similar, definitely seems more like an imperial brown, lots of flvor here for 6%

Tap at the brewpub. The look is clearance, eggshell colored head, and brownish in color. The smell is definitely German chocolate cake, coconut, cocoa, nice, malt, roast, and good. The taste is malt, roast, coconut, chocolate, and ok.

Pretty damn cool beer from this up-and-comer. Big, bold, roiling dark brown pour with a buoyant, sticky head. Nose is really pretty inviting, with deep chocolate and caramel malts, dry hops to bring out the abundant coconut, and damn if it isn’t pretty close to the inspiration. On a chilly evening, the warming malts and deep rich flavors went down quite nicely. Slight nutty notes suggest fruitbread here and there. But this well realized brown benefits well from the sweet additions and satisfies without being gimicky.

(22oz bomber) clear ruby amber with a ring of fine tan bubbles. Nose of coconut, nuts, toasty grain and graham cracker. Taste of coconut, a bit of coconut estery bitterness, cream, smooth, nutty, and rich. Really nice and easy to drink. Great brown ale.

Tap at the pub. This beer pours a clear dark red color with some rosy highlights. Ring of off white head. Aroma is sweet, Belgian sugar and light roasted malts. Flavor is raisins, wood, aged malts with a slightly sweet finish. Almost some oaky notes as well. Grats on 4 years.
