3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 brystmar (458) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 12, 2013
2012. Had a few bottles of various vintages fresh and now this one aged.
Hearty malt roast lays the foundation for bitter dark chocolate dominates the taste. Big, creamy body serves as the perfect medium for these flavors. Boozy warmth compliments a surprising hop backbone as it descends. Finishes dry and mildly bitter.
To be fair, this ~6-month-aged bottle gushed a bit and poured with ok much carb (potential signs of infection), yet didn't taste infected. Still a fan.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 dreadnord (1000) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 7, 2013
The pour is deep brown almost black with a thin tan head. The nose is roasted coffee, chocolate, earthy, cherries and light notes of tabacco. The taste is medium sweet and medium high bitter with a nice bitter finish. The texture is a bit sharp at first but then become more soft and creamy after it sits on the pallet. The body is heavy and the finish is long. Neat.

Bottle shared at RBWG, poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, earth, char and booze. Flavors were a mixture of roated chocolate with some earth and booze. Decent overall.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 PhillyCraft (1993) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Bottle from Bill, 5 years old, pours black with thin neige head, notes of peat, pepper, chocolate, char, and wood. A little too spicey for me.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jbruner (1129) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Bottle shared at RBWG! Pours dark brown with a small off white head that dissipates quickly to leave little to no lacing. Aroma of light booze, coffee and roasted malts, and a hint of spice. Taste follows, but less spice and more coffee. A little thin on the mouth for an imperial stout, but smooth. Interesting, decent.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GT2 (5664) - Riverslime, California, USA - FEB 28, 2013
651mL shared at RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a low haze, deep cola. Nose is dark, baked cherry; chocolate cake; dessert, dusty cocoa powder. Taste is sweet milk chocolate. Palate is very thin, papery. Glad I didn’t trade for this back in the day.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TURDFERGUSON (3574) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours dark brown with a small off white head that fades in a danish second. Nose is light spice, hot booze. I found this beer to be a bit raw and harsh, lots of roast, bitter coffee, light ashy finish.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - FEB 23, 2013
This bottled brew from a rating party poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes of wood brown malt hops and bread dough. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
