COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
9.1% ABV, 50 IBU A growing South Texas tradition, La Muerta is brewed each year for Día de los Muertos in honor of our departed friends and family. A big, lush Imperial Stout, La Muerta is full of roast, smoke and chocolate flavors from an array of specialty malts that go into this garnetblack ale. If you are holding this bottle, it means either you (or someone you know with a kind heart) boldly stood in line for hours on the first Saturday of November. Karma rewards those who give selflessly, so share with your closest compadres or a new friend. La Muerta will age wonderfully for years to come – we recommend enjoying one now and save some for the future, if you can. ¡Salud!

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light coffee notes, dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light licorice, light coffee grind, musty character, nice and smooth. Bottle at Spinrsx tasting.

Bomber shared by Chad. Rich dark chocolate, black coffee, vanilla, a little spicy, a bit boozy, medium+ body, fairly full body, off-dry, reasonably high bitterness, quite boozy, nice enough.

Bomber 2014 vintage poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, smoke, bakers cocoa and light earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, smoke and bakers cocoa with a smooth dry lingering smokey cocoa finish.

Bottle (22 oz) shared at tasting. From dresden, thanks! Black with a medium brown head, good retention, leaving some lacing. Flavor is of fudge and cocoa powder at first alongside mild to moderate chili presence, perfume, alcohol, coffee and mild fruitiness. Taste is not very sweet with a bit of heat from the alcohol and mild chocolate bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Vegetal finish. Too perfumy for my liking but there’s nice fudge/cocoa features and a little chili kick (which is weird considering it’s not in the ingredients list).

Pours a medium black with a beige head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of roast, coffee and slight oxidation. I swear I got some chile peppers but I don’t see it in the commercial deScription. Oh well, must be some hot alcohol? Nothing bad, though, it adds just a small kick. Coffee otherwise. Medium body and carbonation. OK

Bouteille 650ml, bottle share. Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka ayant une belle tenue.
