A big, lush Imperial Stout, La Muerta is full of roast, smoke and chocolate flavors from an array of specialty malts that go into this garnetblack ale. Pours dark like black ink, looks thin though. 2 finger brown head. Aromas of roast, bitter malt, black tea. Very thin mouthfeel. Surprisingly, not very sweet which is always good. Got some chocolate milkshake going on, along with some light roasting and hoppiness. Very light in the mouth, but also has a slight creaminess to it. Pretty solid overall.

22oz bottle pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is big coffee roast some smoke a chocolate sweetness and a nice char. Taste is more of the heavy chocolate acidic notes a nice rich malt and plenty of the dark roast.

Bottle, thanks Chad! Pours brown, dark cola with tons of head and lacing. Nose is molasses, espresso. Flavours of plums, figs, booze, espresso, dark chocolate, some smoke. Taste big sweet, medium bitter. Mouth is full creamy body with light carbonation.

Bomber 2014 vintage poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, smoke, bakers cocoa and light earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, smoke and bakers cocoa with a smooth dry lingering smokey cocoa finish.

Bottle 22oz. Pours black with low-medium beige head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is of coffee, roasted malt, lactose, vegetal stuff, smoke. Taste is of coffee, roasted malt, spices, alcohol. Palate: Full bodied. Soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Good. Nice dark malts. A tad heavy. Coffeesque.

Bottle (22 oz) shared at tasting. From dresden, thanks! Black with a medium brown head, good retention, leaving some lacing. Flavor is of fudge and cocoa powder at first alongside mild to moderate chili presence, perfume, alcohol, coffee and mild fruitiness. Taste is not very sweet with a bit of heat from the alcohol and mild chocolate bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Vegetal finish. Too perfumy for my liking but there’s nice fudge/cocoa features and a little chili kick (which is weird considering it’s not in the ingredients list).
