COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every New Year Old Bat Rastard unfurls his withered wings and stretches, feeling for any sign of the sun warming his would-be thumb. If there is no warmth, he’s in for a long winter; if however he feels a sunrays’ warmth, he folds his leathery appendages back, content to know spring is not far. Deep, tawny brown, our winter warmer welcomes you with its inviting malt aromas and caramelized sweetness. Thick, full and increasingly bitter, this is the beer to break the dead of winter. Suitable for aging but also for sharing, so don’t be a rastard – pass some along to your closest compatriots. Ingredients: 2-Row, aromatic, dark crystal, caramunich & roast malts ; subdued, yet imposingly present hops; top-fermenting yeast; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; New Year Resolutions. Deep, tawny brown, our winter warmer welcomes you with its inviting malt aromas and caramelized sweetness. Thick, full and slightly bitter, this is the beer to break the dead of winter.

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 18, 2010
Growler, courtesy of 4.4-40. Pours a clear, dark crimson color with a tiny tan surface film that settles to a thin ring at the edge. Drippy, sugary sheeting shows on the glass, but leaves no lace. The nose shows notes of raisins and generic dark fruit sweetness, with an overly stale, nearly burnt dark grain character. Flavors follow suit, again showing notes of burnt bread and stale grain, with moderate, earthen hop bitterness and a non-descript dark fruitiness. Hints of winter spices creep in as well, adding little improvement. The palate is thin for a beer of this magnitude, showing low carbonation and a warm, grain alcohol finish. Pretty lousy brew if you ask me.
