Had over the weekend on my weekly visit to San Antonio. Poured deep brown, almost black into a snifter with a 3/4 inch creamy tan head that laced beautifully on the way down. Aroma was sweet malt with a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel was thick and full. Flavor is sweet, malty with a tinge of hop bitterness at the finish. Only slight alcohol warmth - but danger waits as this beer comes in at 9.1% ABV according to their board! Very much enjoyed this first foray be Freetail into things more "extreme"

A: Poured a deep copperish color with good carbonation, nice dirty white cap, lacing S: A light funkiness, grains, dark fruits, faded hops and dark fruits T: Faded hops, some grains, caramel and dark fruits with a copper like taste to it. Just off and not so pleasant M: Medium bodied, overcarbonated, off putting copper like mouthfeel with faded hops, some obnoxious bittering on the end, dry O: Not so good, move on

Bomber 2012 version. Pours deep dark brown with a small head that disappeared quickly. Nose is a bit astringent, with hints of fruitiness. Taste has a hint of cherries, some cocoa, very pungent, some wine notes. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Unique and delicious.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 22oz bottle pours a hazy nut brown with some cloudy white head. Nose of tomato, light mint, cherry, strawberry. Flavor is sweet, berries, cherries, tomato, malty, light acid. Medium bodied, dry finish.

An amber colored dark brown beer. It has that Jenny look. The aroma is malty and and sweet. Light lace. Light carbonation. Maply finish.

Cloudy brown pour, tan head. Malt forward aroma, raisins, spice cake. Flavor is malty, yeast cake, dark fruit. A bit metallic tho.

Bottle. 2011 vintage, 200 bottles made. 8.6% abv. Pours a caramel reddish brown color with a light tan head. Caramel notes in the nose as well along with some spice and light fruit like grape. The initial taste has a touch of sourness to it that I was NOT expecting from this beer. Sweet with a sour back end. It works on this beer but I am assuming this is not what was drawn up. I ended up enjoying this beer but it’s for sure not a Old Ale.

Cloudy brown in color. Very opaque with a thin soapy head. Sweet raisin bread aroma mixed along with some fig notes. Flavor is some dried apricot, figs & dark molasses bread. Overall, good, complex, and very tasty. I look forward to the next release...

on tap-pours a tan head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-roasty/peat. Taste is sweet medium malt-roasty/peat/cocoa, earthy.

Pours dark reddish black with off white head, aroma has notes of cola, dark fruit, chocolate, some toffee. Taste is some dark cola notes, dark fruit, chocolate, toffee, some slight cocoa powder. Nice brew.

2010 Bottle shared by jcwattsrugger. Pours dark brown. Tan head. Nose is bready malts, plum and raisin. Taste is very bready. Lots of malt, some raisin, plum and toffee. Medium body.
