COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for the fairer-furred flying mammal who’d rather avoid a sunburned bum. Other parts of the country may lay claim on having great beer culture, but we ain’t too shabby down here in San Antonio… unfortunately we’re a lot closer to the surface of the sun, so bust out the SPF 100 to protect your tail from the South Texas rays. This quaffable thirst quencher combines a simple recipe of malts with a relatively reserved portion of American hops to create refined refreshment, perfect for escaping the heat on a patio with a view near you. And please, someone crank up the air conditioning. Ingredients: Pale, carapils, Munich & crystal malts; restrainedly aggressive American hops; top-fermenting yeast; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; Plenty of Shade

Draft - Light citrus hops and some light malts sweetness. Clear gold with a rich white head. Mellow piney and resin hops with a dank bitterness that fades quick. Nice APA.

Waxy amber with a thin white ring head. Aroma is good and strong with hop pininess. Palate is subdued compared to the aroma but very strong flavors of grapefruit peel and english malts come out. A bitchin’ brew. Full but sessionable and totally satisfying with a balabced strong hoppiness and weaker malt backbone. Not iver the top. Just right.

Big thanks to Curtis for sending me this growler! Shared with the other Matt last week. The beer is a copper / orange / amber hue, depending on where the light hits the glass. The liquid is very hazy, with nearly an inch of off white head that exhibits lasting retention. The aroma is a blend of hops and malt, with light citrus. The flavor is well balanced and enjoyable. This is a nice pale ale, and fresh tasting. The body is light, but not thin, per se. The aftertaste leaves a lasting hop bitterness (positive) on the palate. Overall, a nice, light beer. A good choice for warm weather. I would have this again. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 06-06-2011

Pours a glassy amber with a nose of soapy hops. Flavor is syrupy-sweet rosy hops. Oily mouthfeel. Not bad.

Light orange pour. Light caramel malt and resiny hops. Flavor mirrors aroma with a decent finishing bitter. Light medium body with good carbonation.

2/24/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Clear golden pour with a small khaki head. Plain aroma of light caramel malt with a bit of grassy hops. Light flavor as well with a touch of caramel and grassy hops. Plain but drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. Sampled with DarkBeerChick. Poured a dark amber body with some off-white head. Aromas of piney hops that’s fairly assertive. Some floral notes afterwards. Flavors of mostly piney/floral hops, lightly malty sweet (fairly balanced), grassy/floral hops in the end. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Not a bad choice for pizza on date night.
