COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rarely released in its purest form, Ananke is the backbone of our wild ale program, a base beer used for blending and fruit infusion. Named for the ancient Greek Goddess of inevitability and personification of destiny, necessity & fate, Ananke helps bring order to an otherwise chaotic universe. Such as her namesake, this delicately sour ale’s presence is felt throughout all of our barrel-aged beers. We present to you this batch, with raspberries added in the secondary tank. Stin ijiasas! Ingredients: Pilsen & acidulated malts; raw wheat; flaked rye; Perle hops; top-fermenting yeast; wild yeast & bacteria; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; raspberries; love

On tap at brewpub. Pours a clear ruby and medium frothy pink head that leaves spotty lacing. The aroma is strong rasberry and funk. Thin mouthfeel with strong rasberry flavor, light sourness and nice tart finish. Easy to drink, a very impressive one off of the original.

Strong blast of raspberries right off the bat. Smells like freshly crushed fruit. Puckering sourness and acidity through and through. The modestly funky Ananke base serves as an excellent vessel here as the fruit really pops. Couldn't be more proud that an American-style framboise this good came from my hometown.

Bottle share at Hunahpu’s Day. I thought I had had this at the brewery before, but maybe not. Tart but not overly sour. Raspberry isn’t overpowering.

22 ounce bottle thanks to errl. Thanks! Pours a translucent red with no head. Fruity, bright raspberry comes through in the aroma along with a solid tartness. Clean and fruity with a soft tartness in the finish. Really nice beer.

Bottle shared by main man Josh. 2012 vintage. Reddish orange pour with a white head. Raspberry aromas. Tart and acidic raspberries with white grape undercurrents. Good body, good balance, and good mouthfeel. A very nice sour from the kids in San Antonio...

Bottle at jtclockwork’s place for a tasting. Pours a hazed ruby garnet with a thin white head. Big fat raspberries and soft acidic funk on the nose. Medium bodied, lots of musky raspberries, tart acid and subtle sweetness. Amazingly balanced, soft raspberry, long gentle acid. Lovely.

Bottle from Tim; shared by me at tasting at my house. Pours raspberry red. Nose and taste of raspberry -seeds and all-, lactose, milk acid, oak and light vinous notes. Well balanced moderate tartness. Dryish finish. Well done.

Big thanks to cfh64 for the bottle. 22 oz. bottle served in a Half Acre snifter. 2012 release. A: Pours clear ruby color with no discernable head. Light frothiness around the edges, but nothing special. S: A lot more funk than acticipated. A little cheesy with some raspberry freshness. There is a mild tartness on the backend with a little wine grape aspect to it. T: Tart raspberry upfront with an almost sweet tart candy like middle. Oaky and red wine-esque in the finish. Mild funk in the periphery, but taste was all about the fruit. M: Light bodied with a prickly carbonation level to break tarness. Pretty drinkable. O: The duality of the nose was something. Very funky in the nose, not as much in the taste and vice versa for the raspberry. I enjoyed this beer, but would have liked a little more balance between the nose and taste. Serving type: bottle
