COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rarely released in its purest form, Ananke is the backbone of our wild ale program, a base beer used for blending and fruit infusion. Named for the ancient Greek Goddess of inevitability and personification of destiny, necessity & fate, Ananke helps bring order to an otherwise chaotic universe. Such as her namesake, this delicately sour ale’s presence is felt throughout all of our barrel-aged beers. We present to you this batch, with raspberries added in the secondary tank. Stin ijiasas! Ingredients: Pilsen & acidulated malts; raw wheat; flaked rye; Perle hops; top-fermenting yeast; wild yeast & bacteria; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; raspberries; love

Big thanks to cfh64 for the bottle. 22 oz. bottle served in a Half Acre snifter. 2012 release. A: Pours clear ruby color with no discernable head. Light frothiness around the edges, but nothing special. S: A lot more funk than acticipated. A little cheesy with some raspberry freshness. There is a mild tartness on the backend with a little wine grape aspect to it. T: Tart raspberry upfront with an almost sweet tart candy like middle. Oaky and red wine-esque in the finish. Mild funk in the periphery, but taste was all about the fruit. M: Light bodied with a prickly carbonation level to break tarness. Pretty drinkable. O: The duality of the nose was something. Very funky in the nose, not as much in the taste and vice versa for the raspberry. I enjoyed this beer, but would have liked a little more balance between the nose and taste. Serving type: bottle

Bottle sample from "hannont". Colour...slight cloudy, light ruby with no head. Nose...pronounced raspberry with vinegar notes too. Palate...a quick burst of perfumey raspberry and then the fruit trails off and gets replaced with a generalised acetic flavour. There’s yeasty bits and and lingering tart finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Vintage 2012. Pours a cloudy, pale red with a lacing, white head. Sweet and tart raspberry aroma - quite intense. Light-bodied, super dry and lactic with loads of raspberry accents. Dry, refreshing finish. Excellent! 081114

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2014 Bottle... darkguardian’s & biggsbowler’s West Palm Beach Birthday Bash!... This beer rocks!... Hazy dirty-orange pour with a miniscule, fleeting, creamy, white head. The aromatics are fruity and sour - raspberries and other red, acidic berries and fruits. Light to medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. The flavor furnishes big notes of sour raspberries, blackberries and red currants. Finishes fruity, stupid tart and then it dries out. World class beer provided by a world class guy, 50belair!

2012 Bottle, bomber. split 2 ways at fridge temp and allowed to warm. red-pinkesh hues. Nose is bright fruit, minor fecal matter, a hint of tang soda and broken dreams. Taste is nice. very dry, semi-sweet finish. not a huge burst of raspberry but this is quite old now. hint of balsamic, great mouthfeel. has a nice backbone with spice.

2012 bottle shared with my brother on Christmas. Hazy reddish-pink pour with a white head. The aroma has some tart raspberries as well as some oak and big seedy raspberry notes. The flavor has some juicy, seedy raspberry notes. There is a good bit of tartness as well as some light oak and wine-like character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Delicious.
