Bottle thanks to Dallas, another cool beer! Pours a hazy blonde color with a medium white head. A sour fruity nose, some vinous barrel notes and herbal elements. The flavor is nice: sweet blonde ale; some tart sawdust; sweet apricot; big straw/malt. Good, well made.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 KickInChalice (772) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 12, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 10/23/2011. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tulip. Thanks to bauermj for bringing this bottle out.
My pour is a full golden color, transparent with a think white foam on top. The head fades to a collar and leaves just a little lace.
The aroma really jumps out of the glass into my nose. Sweet pale malts, oak, lactic acid, green apple, honey, white grape, and a nice burst of vanilla.
The flavor is complex as well. Up front the flavor is sweet, with honey, a little spiciness, light malts, green apple, pear, and white grape. A woody oak flavor and some spiciness reduce the sweetness on the tongue. The finish is lightly sweet.
The feel is sweet to start and on the dry side at the finish. I notice the light crisp carbonation to go along with an oaky acidity and soft tannic nature.
I like the balance of oak and tart acidity after the brief fruity sweetness. This is a very nice beer overall.

Bottle courtesy of Huhzubendah. Served in a snifter.
Pours a clear golden-peach color with a decent white head. Touch of lacing as it falls plus a bit of a collar. The nose brings some spicy rye with some light stone-fruit character. There is a bit of lactic sourness there. Flavor has more stone fruit plus some spicy rye. Light touch of oak plus a bit of sourness. Body is rather heavy and chewy for a sour, but it works quite well. Bit of spice. Quite tasty. Glad to try this.

Bottle shared by someone at the 2011 Kuhnhenn Winter Solstice. Poured a near clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of breet with a light tartness, tropical fruit and a bit of backing vanilla. Flavor starts with citrus and tart fruit and finishes with light dry funk and a hint of funk.

bottle... medium straw, a bit clear, nice white head... the aroma is acidic wine, a bit of barrel but mostly its pretty light... the first bite of the taste is overpowering and harsh, too much at first, after the initial shock it calms down, a pretty drinkable mostly white wine like beer

Tasted on 12/17/11 from a capped 22oz bomber bottle, vintage 2011, thanks to Curtis. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to a thin layer of lace. The nose is fairly reserved, with a good amount of coconut, a sour lactic note, wheat malt, and a hint of vanilla oak. The flavor is understated, but very pleasant, with lightly sweet up front with some coconut and vanilla oak, moving to the sour notes with some wheat malt. The body is medium with just lighter than average, very smooth carbonation, and a long, lightly sour, and coconut finish.
