COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So stood President John F. Kennedy at the steps of the Rathaus Schöneberg, preparing to deliver what would become his iconic speech in front of 450,000 free citizens of West Berlin. "Today, in the world of freedom, the proudest boast is Ich bin ein Berliner!" A half-century later, our country embroiled in bitter political debate over the most trivial of ideals, we present this wood-aged Berliner Weisse as a tribute to the world of Freedom and an olive branch of collaboration to all those who can’t seem to get along. For those who wish to drink it, "Lass’ sie nach San Antonio kommen" – Let them come to San Antonio! Ingredients: Pilsen malt, malted wheat; traditional German hops; top-fermenting yeast; lactobacillus; natural, limestone-filtered, Edwards Aquifer H2O; jelly-filled donuts.

This is a very pale, bright yellow/orange colored beer with a this white head and a pretty watery/wet appearance overall. It’s pretty murky and somewhat cloudy in clarity, much like a lemonade. The aroma is sweet and green with hints of mint. It’s slightly sour with a touch of yeast. It’s not really well carbonated, pretty flat from what I thought I’d expect. The flavor is also sour and very Belgian-like in sourness. It’s a very sour-forward ale that immerses you in an almost apple-like fruitiness. I wouldn’t normally expect such fruity sourness from such a light-colored beer, but this one delivers quite a punch. It looks like lemonade, and the palate/flavor really throws you off. Imagine what would be left behind after fermenting all of the sugar out of a sour lemonade. Take that and mix it with some fermented apple cider and the result would likely be something like this.

Salmoniform (477) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - MAY 25, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy straw hue with fizzy white head. Aroma is lemon, wheat, pepper, lacto. Mouthfeel is refreshing with a light body and good carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with a tart sour following and CO2 sharpness in the finish. Overall this is a really nice sour saison-esque Berliner.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy straw-colored ale with no head. The bouquet is lemony and acidic accompanied by a nice vanilla element. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with zippy carbonation. The flavor is fruity and super sour. Crisp, fruity, uber tart finish. Many thanks to 50belair for popping the top on this world class brew!

cpetrone84 (1334) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2014
Pour is slightly hazed pale yellow with a thin white ring of head that dissipates quickly. Nose is sulfur and heavy musk. Faint touch of grain with a bit of lemon zest. Taste is a bit brighter. Much less sulfur and musk. Musk is faint up front, some leathery brett, strong lemon behind. Gets a little sugary, a good bit of lacto and quite sour. Very dry finish, light body and highly carbonated.

Pour out of bottle, very hazy yellow pour with white head that dissipates fast, aroma brought notes of slight corn, nice lemon, lemon zest with hints of vanilla, slight cracker notes in there, touch of oak. Taste is a mix of lemon, grass, some biscuit, hints of vanilla, corn in there as well, finishing fairly tart, slightly funky.
