In honor of Englishman Vincent Johnson who fabricated and installed all of our brewery equipment. Designed jointly by Vincent and our Head Brewer, Malcolm, with roasted barley, black malt, Maris Otter and wheat for a rich malty flavor. Subtle hop character provided by Target and Willamette hops.

Cask@Freewheel. Clear copper color with ivory sheen. Light pit fruit, nutty aromas. Medium body with average carbonation. Mild nutty, caramel, toast fruit flavors with an earthy dirt bitterness---not bad.

On cask at the brewhouse. Aroma of wheat and sweet grain. Slight orange aroma in the back. Slightly hazy copper orange with a white head that lingers down the glass. Sweet malt with moderate bitter finish and a carbonic bite at the death that is slightly off. Some floral hop flavor as well.

Cask Pour. Pours clear orange amber with a medium creamy white head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is caramel dominated, perhaps some roasty notes. Flavor is caramel, grass, a bit of metal. Lightly sweet and just some token bitterness. Medium body. Meh.

Pint in the tap room at the brewery. Very much an English style, with a smooth head and very little fizz. Darker than most ambers. Nice.

Amber pour with a white head. Bready malt aroma, some nice toast, and a good combination of floral, earthy, and spicy hops. Moderate sweetness overall on the nose. The flavor has a good malt sweetness of toffee, toast, and bread. Rather hop forward, particularly floral and spicy hop notes. Minimal bitterness.
