Malcolm and Tim Dunford collaborate to brew Green Jack Hybrid Bitter. At a 3.5% ABV this session bitter is quaffable and refreshing with a slight hop bitter finish. The grain bill is Maris Otter and a bit of crystal malt for added complexity. The hops are American grown versions of English classics Golding and Styrian Golding. Hybrid Bitter is quickly becoming a favorite of beer geeks at Freewheel.

Cask pour. Pours hazy golden with a medium white creamy head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is very floral, with hay and spicy notes. Flavor is the same, like drinking the water in a vase almost, with biscuit malt overtones as well. Lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body.

Slightly hazed golden pour with a white head. Big time bread, dough, and biscuit malt aromas. Nice floral hop character and a hint of grass. Simple aroma. The flavor is really big on the biscuit and dough with some bready sweetness. Light toasted malt, floral hops, grass, and minimal bitterness.

Tasted on cask at the SF beer week opening celebration. A very welcome addition to the Bay Area! This one pours a clear golden color with an off white head. The aroma has some nice bright tangerine and grapefruit notes with some backing crackery malt. Some toffee in the flavor and more tangerine. Herbaceous, spicy hops in the finish. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. A beautiful cask bitter.
