3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap in the Wildeman. Poured a murky yellow with a healthy white head. Aroma of floral hops with wheat and spices. Flavour is of coriander and some light floral hops. Haven’t really rated any Braustelle/Freigeist before, this is a distinct improvement, nice session beer.

Pint bottle. A large white fluffy head. The beer is clear golden. This beer has fairly tart fruit. Some pine, light salt, and soft malts. Herbal notes. Could almost be a Berliner Weiss.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy peach color with off-white head. Aroma has wheat, yeast esters and spruce. Also a bit of orange, similar to a witbier. Taste is also closer to a witbier than a gose. No tartness at all, just wheat, cloves, spruce and some herbal bitterness. Body is on the light side but also really smooth. Not bad but it doesn’t taste like a gose, more like a resiny witbier.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not much salt or sour. Didn’t pick up any spruce contribution. $6.49 per 500 ML prices it above most Gose in this market.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of tart lemon, lime, green apple, white grape, coriander, spruce, pepper, clove, sea salt, wheat, cracker, toasted bread, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy/spicy yeast, salt/spice, and bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tart/tangy lemon, lime, green apple, white grape, coriander, spruce, pepper, clove, sea salt, wheat, cracker, toasted bread, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/piney bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, green apple, white grape, coriander, spruce, pepper, clove, sea salt, cracker, toasted bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy/spicy yeast, salt/spice, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spice/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, dry, fairly sticky, and lightly saline/bready/acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a damn nice spruce spiced Gose style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/earthy/spicy yeast, salt/spice, and bready malt flavors; with a very smooth and crisp to drink with the very well balanced mouthfeel. A very enjoyable offering.
