3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
An initially towering white head sits above the muddy pale gold and quickly, it settles back. Bright lemony aroma over a wheaty, lactic backbone. Tastes pretty much as you would expect, but with a sense of balance from no ingredient dominating one another. It remains on the refreshment side all throughout, with the coniferous, earthy spruce adding a green, almost herbal component that is most recognizable in mouth. Thin bodied and vigorously carbonated, it is tart and quaffable with its mineral water sparkle. A very efficient quaffer and one that manages to be an original tweak on top of it all. The salt is not so much of a factor except in the very finish, I would likely not have guessed its presence if I’d not been looking for it.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Bottleworks, pours a cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out salt, herbs and wheat notes. Flavour brings out quite a bit of salt, not getting much wood, but there’s prominent wheat as a typical gose. Smooth and drinkable - decent stuff.
