3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
On draught at Apex. Fuzzy peach color, very hazy. Aroma is smoke, vinegar, basement, and lemon. Taste is smoke, sour plum, latex, vinegar, and lemon. Unlike any sour I’ve had before. Both off-putting and really good.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy amber pour with a white head. Aromas of smoke and some slight acidity. Flavor is tart upfront with lots of malt and a nice smokey finish. The smoke character is what makes this one for me. Solid brew.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours dark gold with a white head. Taste tart, lemon, funky. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Moon. Pours a frothy white head atop a clouded orange. Nose is tart and smoked. Great tart berry front, balanced smoke and lemon base. Very interesting, nice texture. Bubbly carbonation, fruity with passion fruit. This is great stuff.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at The Cove. Pours a cloudy orange with small paperthin head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a strong funk, clove, pepper, and smoke. Medium mouthfeel with light sour fruit and nice lingering smoke dry finish. Very good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Alibi Room for the 500th beer list celebration, pours a hazy dark golden orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma and flavour brings out smoked malts, Belgian yeast, and more smoke. Fairly smoky and wild, like a traditional rauchbier. Good stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bontà assoluta per il palato. Un’esperienza straniente e anticonvenzionale che unisce sensazioni acido-acetiche e sfumature citriche, con una presenza di note affumicate che riempiono la bocca e stuzzicano l’immaginazione.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft in a sampler at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a pale, semi-cloudy gold color with a small white head. The initial aroma has a big rubbery note. Pushing through, there is some tart lemon citrus, vinegar, and crackery malts. Flavor of smoked and pale malts, sauerkraut, and rubber. So weird. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a smoky, briny, rubbery mouthfeel. I don’t know how to rate this. I liked the experience but wouldn’t want a lot. One of a kind.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tria Rittenhouse, Philadelphia tap: Pours cloudy yellow/brown with a white head. Aroma is a bit strange; both the sourness and the smokiness are really evident, and combined, they smell sort of like a good-smelling sewer. Taste is unsurprisingly similar to the aroma. Light amounts of smoke with a hefty sourness. Ending up in a tart finish, with a weird combined aftertaste. Interesting. Reminds me of some traditional German beer styles.
