Inspired by an old German style called Lichtenhainer, so it’s a low-alcohol(3,8%), top-fermented smoked beer with lactic sourness.

Bottled. Poured cloudy golden with a short white head. The aroma picked up smoky, wheaty notes with touches of lime and salt.. interesting. The flavor found mostly sour wheaty notes and lime, with salt and touches of earth around.. dry, refreshing finish. Light-bodied with lively carbonation.. good feel to it.. weird style, but I enjoyed it.

Light misty, small grey lacing. Funky, light bready malts, lactic, herbal. Okay. Taste is more pronounced and quite unique. Sour smoothness, butter milk, candy, apricot. Nice. Drinks quite well too, despite active carbonation. Interesting drink, full flavoured for the abv. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Thin frothy white head atop a very clear copper body. Nose of ash and bacon. Attractive smoky flavour with a wet cardboard front, watery apple juice. Interesting.

Bottle at Redlight Redlight. Pours a slightly hazy pale orange with a good amount of tight, white head that held about 30 seconds before fading into a thin collar. Good lacing. A weird kind of funk to the aroma of this beer, almost like a spoiled cheese. I also get some orangey citrus and dry grass. Taste is very similar. The citrus up front, the grass in the middle, and the bleu cheese funk throughout. Nice carbonation, medium to high; and a nice medium-light body.

33cl into glass. Lille. Appearance: golden pale. Pretty transparent. Little to no head. Lots of effervescence. Aroma: sour berries, paper. Taste: mostly just sour. Pretty dry. Bitter finish. Palate: medium body. Thick texture. Medium finish. Vey sour, but not a ton of flavor. An interesting beer.

375 ml bottle.
Pours a cloudy bright golden colour with a white head. Aroma of mellow smoked wood, some sweetness and odd grainy notes. Flavour of smooth sweet malts, messy yeastiness, smoked wood, red berries, sour dough and citrus. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel, high carbonation and a dry, berryish, sour finish. Should be refreshing, but the yeastiness ruins it. The xxx version was better.

Sampled at 4 Hands. Hazed and dingy gold. A funky aroma with tartness and smoke. More smoke is tasted than smelled. It leads the flavors. Less tartness, too. A little funk is tasted with nice fruit.

Bottle at the brewpub. Hazy golden, nice white foam. Acidic and smokey aroma. Lemony flavours and salty meat. In fact, it works very well, the two extremes balancing each other nicely. A nice surprise and bonus point for originality.
