Like Freigeist Abraxas, it’s also inspired by the style Lichtenhainer, but this version is stronger (6% alc.) and contains more lactic sourness.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2011 Bottle, bought @ Bierkompass.de.
Pours hazy orange with no real head. Aroma has rubber gloves , toasted caramel and quite a bit of Werthers Echte. Very weird combination. High carbonation, dry as sh**. Flavour is dry malts, light wheat sweetness, lactic, a bit of sharpness, light sulphuric, apples. Quite weird and nowhere near as balanced as the Abraxas.

Bottle shared at the 1st Israeli Sour Tasting. Thanks Koelschtrinker for this bottle. Clear golden with a white head. A slightly lactic aroma with fruits, light smokiness, wheat and some citrus. Sour lactic flavor with nice citric notes. Medium-bodied. Tasty. Later note: After the tasting I had the last few sips left in the bottle, and a big smokiness hit me on the tongue. So, the flavor is also quite smoky even though I didn’t notice it before.

At the sour tasting, thanks DSG, pours shiny yellow bubbly with a medium head, aroma of smoked wood, smoked fish, fresh herbs and some malt, flavor is smokey with lots of lemon, pretty simple, medium bodied, nice

Jut!Test vom 13.5.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche

On tap. This didn’t make me crazy. It has a white head with an orange like colour. Medium carbonation, fruity flavour, but also wheat taste. Nothing special for me but it’s a good product.

38cl, new exclusive German brew Anno 2010, from Bierkompass Stolberg, complex sour brew, smoked, yet not balanced, hazy, nearly no head, nice brew, yet expensive

Bottled from Bierkompass. Hazy dark golden color with medium white head. Aroma, fruity, banana and clove in background. Taste, sour, citrus, some red berries. More aggressive then Abraxas, but drinkable.

Bottled. Kept in my cellar for 1 year. The aroma has a distinct subtle smokiness, some tartness and yeast. Slightly hazy, pale yellow coloured beer with a big, nice, white head. The taste is tart and sour, smokey, citric, hint of lactics and even wood. Very subtle, balanced and complex. Way to go Sebastian!

Bottle. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and smoky lactic malt aroma. Cloudy amber color with small head. Sweet lemon initially with tart lactic malt flavor with a light bitter finish. Medium body. Not bad - flavor pretty straight-forward.

Orange. White head. Aroma is smoky and fireplace-like. Also some wheat and herbs in the aroma. Flavour is very sour and fruity. Weird beer in a good way. Surprising too.
