3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very happy these were imported; itís not every day you get to try a new style. Hazy deep gold, white head. Nose is yogurt (Iíve always wondered at that beer description and finally found one where it fits for my palate), lemon, smoke. Flavour is more yogurt, smoke but not too much. Not as good as the Geisterzug but still enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from 1 pint (9 fl oz) bottle. Slightly hazy golden yellow with minimal white head. Aroma has grain, mild sour apricot, and very subtle smoke. Taste of grain, sour funk, smoke, and some lemony apricot. Very lactic texture. Quite odd, I literally said "wtf?" after the first sip, didnít like it on the second sip, but began to enjoy it around the halfway point. Definitely a once in a blue moon kind of beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a slight orange tinge and a small white head. Nose brings out the smoked malt upfront, followed by some lactic sourness and salt. Flavour brings out loads of lactic tartness, followed by just enough of the smoked malt presence. Very milky mouthfeel from the lactose, which gives way to subtler tartness than wouldíve otherwise been noticeable I think. This was a surprising hit for me - extremely well-designed and highly drinkable stuff. Excellent.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: † Bright straw, faint haze, light carbonation, small sudsy white head, little lacing. † Soft tart nose, noticeable smoked malts. † Smooth soft sweetness from start to finish, a little lime, smoke, witih a touch of salty goodness coming on the backside. † Not as bubbley as others, seems softer. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate. † Sweet and salty finish, touch of lime zest, with faint smoke rounding it out. † Easy to drink, and enjoyable if a little simple.   Good balance, a little mealy after the finish.

Thanks to Hopswagger for this one.
1pint 9fl oz bottle served in a Southern Tier tulip
A - Pours a light burnt orange with a small cream colored head.
S - Smoked wheat grain, earthy, old lemons.
T - Lactic tartness upfront, lemon acidity, salty, all wrapped in smoke, dried fermented fruit, apricots and pear skin come to mind, grainy wheat runs right down the middle, smoke comes out more as it warms, Finishes tart and dry with an acidic bite at the end.
M - Effervescent carbonation lifts this off the palate creating fine fizzy bubbles. Light side of medium weight, dry tart finish.
Nice and refreshing. The smoke really didnít get in the way of the tartness like I thought it would. The nose was muted and didnít amaze me. Clean flavors with a solid finish. Good beer for food pairing.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at Lord Hobo 1/10/14
Slightly hazy, peachy-brass colored beer has a small, rapidly receding off-white head. Liquid seems moderatley carbonated.
Somewhat of a weak nose, mostly due to the lactic acid dulling the smoke. Very little sign of malt, just a touch of grainy/crusty breadiness. Faint esters as well, but I didnt get much of the strong banana or bubblegum I see in others notes.
Lactic acid right up front, with a pinch of smokiness (very dry and reserved) which leads to...very little. Malt is fully attenuated, with little to no dextrines providing for a very, very light body. Seems to be on the very low threshhold of mash temps. I suppose this is ameliorated by the fact that itís highlighting sour/astringent/tannic flavors anyways, and it seems to be the point of the beer to have no sweetness and very little body. Still, when your malt is just some dry, crackery/crusty breadiness and the smoke is equally dry and light, what are you really doing? Drinking a glass of lactic acid. Could be worse! But Iíll stick to lambics and session-hop beers like guinea riner, if I want to go that route. For 6% abv, Iíd expect a lot more flavor. This is what Iíd expect the lower abv version to taste like.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deeply golden body, with an ok head. Feint sweet bubblegum nose that strengthens after extended aeration and is accompanies by candi malts. The body is full of candi malt as well as sweet bubblegum. Mildly tart with a strong wheat backbone. Sour bubblegum finish.
