3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft sample. Poured a hazy reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate tart fruit and sour aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium sour flavor with a medium sour finish of moderate duration. Soft for style.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have dark fruits, chocolate, oak, light tart, vinous, a hint of smoke, sweeter, not much sour, I echo the others from Cincy in that it was odd.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a translucent amberish brown with light beige head. Smells tart and oaky with some chocolate and coffee. Some dark fruit as well. Tastes like it smells, but less balanced. Medium-bodied on the palate. Subpar.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Dutch’s. Very dark brown, near-black color, in this dim lighting. Nice thin tan head, leaving good splotches of lace. At first, a surprising amount of dark fruit, and some licorice in the flavor, not entirely pleasant but not awful.. Caramel flavor, hint of chocolate, and some musty oxidization. Seeing some of the berry, plum, mushroom, steak sauce, and mild smoke flavors that other raters mentioned. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, barely tart, and maybe a hint of salt? Can’t decide if it’s too much salt or not enough. Mild to moderate savory. Bigger body, kind of slick and syrupy. Lighter carbonation. OK, kind of interesting to sip on, but not great. Not tasty. Mostly weird. Would be better if this was more sour probably, just too sweet for the style which seems to bring out the weird parts of the aroma, there’s nothing cutting that sweetness. Certainly interesting & unique, though. 12oz was way too much. 6oz would have been plenty.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ Real Gastropub, Honolulu. Reddish-brown. Smokey, lightly woody, light grape character, maybe plum, fruity taste...really weird, like sprinkling li hing on Islay malt. Bit of tartness in the finish. Totally crazy, only nerds would get this.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. Looks really good this. A big near everlasting dark beige lacing head over a nut brown/mild brown thing - that is the body. The aroma is not hard to identify even if the glass in on the table and I’m in a hall with 1000 smelling beer geeks. It’s really woody and red berry infused. A sharp brett sourness. A little vinegar hint as well. Nice. It’s really dark and roasted in the taste and compared with the slightly wood acidity it makes sense. Tones of both chocolate and coffee here. Malt vinegar. Soft to average prickling. Ending lingering. Nice one!. 02.05.2014

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at EO. Black pour with a bubbly tan head. Nose is sour, smoky, salty with hints of oak and roasted malts. The flavor is very aligned with the nose but not executed well at all. Insanely tough to get through.
