Bottled. The aroma has roasted malts, chocolate/moccha and a hint of coffee. Black coloured with a thin, beige head. The taste is sweet, has roast, coffee, chocolate, is a bit creamy and has some woody tones there. Quite nice.

Rund, stark, vollmundig, gut! 7/14/12/14/12/14

Glouglouburp (4783) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 20, 2012
In short: A smooth and round stout with a different flavor profile. Good beer
How: Bottle 375ml, Consumed probably fresh a few weeks after purchase directly from the source
The look: Black body topped by a medium beige head
In long: The unusual nose has oak, plenty of fungus, some roast, vanilla. Taste is very roasted, plenty of spicy wood, some rye, lots of vanilla, a bit of nougat, green leafy/minty hops, a tiny bit of smoke, light notes of bananas. Full velvety body with low carbonation. Overall, original, well balanced and tasty. This beer had an original blend of flavor elements that made it stand out from the crowd. Doesn’t really have much of a mocha flavor but that’s not a problem per say. I am happy to report that this beer didn’t suffer from the same problems that plagued the regular Caulfield and Caulfield Not Just Plain Vanilla I had, both were ruined by a marinated onions flavour. Therefore I will assume that the awful bottles I had from the Caulfield series were a one-batch problem. And the funniest thing about this rating conclusion is that by the time you realize I don’t have anything to add in this last sentence it’s too late for you to stop reading it.
