Idiosynkrasie (4254) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2015
500ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, golden colour with small to average, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Wheaty and fruity aroma, a touch of wet straw, anticipatory hints of salt. Taste is moderately tart, lemon juice tartness, dry, hints of quince, a salty touch. Slightly better balanced taste compared to its rhubarb twin.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours golden orange with small white head. Light citrus aroma, some yeast, and bread. Taste is lightly sweet with nice salty touches. Slightly sour feel to it. Not bad. A bit fruity.

bartlebier (2072) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - JAN 25, 2015
50cl bottle, brewed & packaged for US export...sad that this is not even being considered for the domestic market apart from one online retailer. - Gentle kitchen salt briny nose, fresh yeast, indistinct orchard fruit peel. The quince tartness enters the lactic central character of this beer very organically, while remaining a "room spray" kind of perfume. Never becomes really sour nor develops any stand-alone funk, is just an overall palate-pleasing chugger. Dry, powdery, extremely easy to drink, pricey.

tectactoe (2519) - Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2015
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2015 Bottle: Thanks, Kevin. Semi-clear golden body with a soapy bright white, thin skin stretched across the top. Aroma of faint lemon, florals, light gum, sweet citrus, dusty hay, & some fresh graininess. Flavor is very slightly tart with some citrus & lemon up front. Not sour, just a mild hint of fruity tartness. Hay, faint stone fruit, grain, & a small hint of cotton. Really, really easy drinking & refreshing. Finishes clean with a very small kiss of acidity. Nice stuff.

Pailhead (5210) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JAN 18, 2015
Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, light lemon, sweet tarts, and faint mineral notes. It pours a mostly transparent golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal ring. The flavor starts with a light dose of citrus (I assume quince, but I’ve never tasted one before). The finish has light lemon, faint sweet tarts, and a touch of salt. It’s light bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, a pretty tasty and refreshing Gose.

CanIHave4Beers (3401) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - JAN 15, 2015
Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a pale straw color with a big white head that fades to a pretty small one.

The aroma has a sort of pear & tart fruit thing going along with some fresh baked bread and some yogurt.

The flavor is really nicely balanced. It’s certainly forward with the tart fruit and it’s got a nice lactic twang. The sourness is bright but well restrained. The malt character is clean. Going in blind I wouldn’t have guessed that there was any fruit in the beer, but I can see where it had a very positive influence.

Way cool.

Bottle shared by Dan at the Pig. Poured into small snifters. Very attractive carbed golden yellow with one finger head. Some lacing. Aroma is fruity, hay, cereal, and clean. Taste is fruity with the quince, slightly tart, salty, with some cereal, and bread. Light body, moderate carb. Clean finish. Very tasty.
