Entgegen meiner Erwartung wurde ich von Rauch erschlagen. Darauf war ich definitiv nicht vorbereitet und neben dieser Dominanz waren die Kirschen praktisch inexistent.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours out in a hazy dark brown colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of smoke, torf and acid. Taste of smoked hops, smoked bread, acid, nuts and torf. Smokey-roastey finish. Expected something more sour and less smoked.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Beer in the glass dark brown, small head. Malty-fruity aroma. Starts intense malty, fruity, like berries and cherries, not too intense, light sourish background. Earthy-malty notes, some wood. Finish with cherry notes, not too intense. A great beer!

On tap at the Earl of Essex Islington. Well it has some sour dark fruits it has some chocolate. The cherry really comes through. Quite a beer. I liked it. A cherry porter. Too carbonated yes. But hey it’s a good beer . Good cherry milk chocolate.

dark chestnut, thin white head with ample lacing. Smokey fruit nose, light acidity and vegetal manure. Thin lactic sour front palate, clings to tongue with lime and chocolate powder, finishing stale and thin with highly effervescent jammy plum.

Keg at the Rake. It pours deep brown with a medium beige head. The nose is soft roast, cocoa, juicy cherry and dull sourness. The taste is tart, tangy dark cherry, dark fruits, bitter-sweet aspect, roasted malt, coffee and cocoa with a dry finish . Medium body and fine carbonation. Balance is good. No great depth of flavour, but pretty decent nonetheless.
