Aroma is dark fruit/cherries, musty and a hint of salt/minerals. The flavor is cherry juice, salt/minerals in the background, malts and a tart/slightly alcoholic/warming finish.

Bottle. Salty caramel malt and light cherry aroma. Murky dark brown with minimal head. Sweet and salty light cherry and caramel malt flavor. Lightly bitter herbal finish. Light body. Tasty.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours drk brown with a slight beige/tan head. For me aroma is very faint, but I think itís cherries and chocolate. Med body. Flavor is a wee bit tart, seems to have some cherry and then chocolate pretty much becomes dominate. Itís not dry, but itís certainly not sweet. Definitely getting a little cherry tartness with each sip. Tasty, but not strong in flavor.

Un colpo da maestri di Freitgeist. Un prodotto che al naso non si lascia riconoscere come porter, con una forte presenza di ciliegia e sentori acidi-acetici che accompagnano la bevuta fino al leggero sfondo tostato.

This one is definitely better than the raspberry one. Pours ruby with OK head and lacing. Light sour finish with some astringency. Some sour cherry. Tap at churchkey

The beer pours cloudy and brown with a touch of magenta. Very small head, just a few light beige bubbles after a second. The aroma is a nice mix of mildly sour cherries, light roast, chocolate, wood and maybe some lacto character. Thereís also a yeasty earthy character to it. Taste is moderately tart without much pucker. Light fruit sweetness. The cherries and dark malt flavors merge much better than expected. Itís more earthy and woody than really big on roasted malts. More chocolate than roast or caramel. Fairly dry. Some body to it but finishes light with some sourness in the back of the throat. I quite like it.

lusikka (6530) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 8, 2014
500 ml bottle. Pours a dark amber brown colour without a head. Aroma of cherries, wood and some bread. Flavour of sharp cherry acidity, bread, some chocolate, earth, some spiciness and wooden tartness. Medium bodied. Dry, tart, sour finish. Not as good as the raspberry version. Could use some sweetness and complexity here.
