Dark brown pour dense tan head. Aroma of cherry cough syrup choco malt. Tastes deep dark roasts cherry is a one note here ~good thing not as prominent as in aroma. Palate is creamy & tangy with yeast!

On tap at OG in San Jose. It pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is huge with real cherries and some cherry syrup along with touches of caramel and roasted malt. The flavor is chocolaty with massive black cherries. The tartness of the beer comes more from the cherries than any yeast or bacteria activity as far as I can tell. It has a mineral background that stops short of being chalky and adds some brightness to the flavor. More plum and mild leathery notes come out later before a tart and toasty finish. The cherry character melds perfectly with the dark and toasty malt. Great stuff. The aroma and finish are particularly spectacular.

Black pour at OG, aromas are brandy, oak, and dark fruit including plums, cherry, and date. Medium bodied. Tast is sour chalk barrel, red, and dark fruits, berries, german malt, copper and yeast. Not oxidized but similar tasting profile. Thin and old smelling/tasting but not in a good way. Lets leave the souring to the Belgians and Americans.

Pours a deep dark brown, small tan head. Sweet, caramel malt, cherry aroma. Almost like a@@@ron’s mom. Flavor is just like that sweet meat, cherry goodness, slight sourness, petes pretty tasty.

On tap at Backcountry. Pours a dark copper brown with small beige head. The aroma is oak, smoke, funk, cherry skin. Thin mouthfeel with burnt cherry and strong funk and lingering dry finish. Good.

From tap at La Fine Mousse. Almost black with a persistent head. Good sour fruit nose, followed by sour cherries, with a hint of roast. Tart and delicious.

On tap at La fine mousse. Nice dark color with big light brown/reddish head. Aromas of old cherries, woody. Taste is ok, with cherries and some roasty coacoa. Not bad but not amazing either. Could use a bit more sweetness.

Alright stuff. Looks really nice. I love when you can see the rich, red color from the cherries coming through even in a darker beer. Smells faintly of cherry blanketed by earth and wood. Flavor is cocoa and cherry with low to moderate acidity. It doesn’t quite leave me wanting more, but decent.
